    Not only is it impressive to get these tunes to werk well within these limitations, but adding onto the original arrangements in fun and fitting ways takes an incredible amount of skill. I'll have to check this out in full sometime soon.

    @@xane5967 This was such a great listen! How did you get four voices playing at once? Is the bass controlled by the DPCM channel on some tracks?

  • @xane5967
    @xane5967Ай бұрын

    I'm glad you liked it, thanks for listening to the whole thing! Correct, the "non-triangle" base is played by the DPCM, freeing an additional voice for various things. I also use quite a bit of mixing and channel delay to "imply" additional voices; which made these arrangements possible.

    Dang this is really cool! I can totally see a hypothetical Donkey Kong NES port with this, especially since the Game Boy of all things was given Donkey Kong Land. Also to remake the ENTIRE soundtrack is insane dedication!

    I've listened to your Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack VRC6 cover so much that I can dream it from start to finish. So imagine how excited I got when I saw you dropped a whole hour of 2A03 mastery! Big congrats on finishing such a big project, it's incredibly inspiring to see! Using 2 hours of free time per day consistently for a single project, for almost half a year no less, is something that seems super-human to me, but I hope to follow in your footsteps someday and make something incredible like this too.

    Once, the gods themselves walked these lands. Our continent of Valentia was home to two of them, sibling gods named Duma and Mila. Duma believed mankind should be ruled by strength, lest we become corrupt, while his sister Mila believed we should be free to pursue lives of pleasure and comfort. The two clashed ceaselessly. It was a long, dark age before the conflict was resolved with the binding of a divine accord. Valentia would be divided in twain, with Duma ruling the north, and Mila ruling the south. And in order to secure a lasting peace, each pledged never to violate the other's dominion. For millennia, this accord was honored, and peace did indeed reign. In time, the kingdom of Zofia, which Mila founded in the south, prospered with their goddess's blessings. Hers were a happy people, who knew no toil and lived free of hardship. But Mila's gifts spoiled the Zofians, and it was only a matter of time before they sank into depravity. Meanwhile, in the north, Duma had built his own empire. Tempered by harsh lands and the even harsher teachings of their fierce god, the people of Rigel had grown strong. But in their quest for power, the Rigelians had let their hearts grow cold and numb to all kindness. Both halves of the continent were in a fragile state, and the cracks had begun to show. And now, Valentia lies on the cusp of a terrible war that could forever alter its history.

    Hello world; I'm not yet dead! Returning to this video is quite an experience, at the moment of writing there are 30.000 of you who found your way here; with 100 of those leaving comments and over a thousand likes. I'm honored and humbled that so many found my work enjoyable! Even seeing it popping up in a few fan projects over the years fills me with joy and gratitude! 😄 The purpose of this letter is twofold; for newcomers, welcome aboard! To those of you who patiently await new uploads; I'm sorry to have disappointed you. When changes happen in real life, sometimes you have to step back from your hobby projects. At this time I'm not yet ready to upload more covers, but I am alive and well. When I see this level of commitment and passion from you, inspiration and gratitude fills me. And just to clarify; YES! You have my consent to use these in any way you like. This is the internet and my covers are a drop in this vast ocean. I make no claims to these videos, it's just a love letter and a tribute. Thank you all very much! ❤

    This! I would love to see a “remaster” of it the game but redone on nes. The nes has proven to be able to have much better art than what was done on Mario 1. Maybe redone in the Mario 3 engine or something but with art that enhances the original direction of Mario 1
