Welcome all to Travel is Sweet.
Our names are Carolyn and Andrew Deagle a married couple from the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. We fell in love with traveling in 2004 and in 2018 changed our lifestyle and begun our lives as full time international house and pet sitters. Having sold our unit, car and most of our possessions we now travel full time. We decided to create our travel blog, also a house and pet sitting blog to share our experiences and journeys with you and hopefully give you some valuable tips and tricks. Share some beautiful photos, fun videos and entertaining stories we have gained in our travels over the years.
We have been fortunate to travel to four continents and sixteen countries at present. The USA and Canada have been our main ports. However, we have just completed stops in the UK, Europe and Thailand. Our motto of travel is sweet dream it, experience it, treasure it certainly rings true for us.

Why is the tank so far from where the buildings are
It's is because we will be moving the container over near the water tank 😁👌
Hey Andrew, what about: DeaglesBushcraft Or AussieBushcrafters… Bushcraft = Bushcraft is the use and practice of skills, thereby acquiring and developing knowledge and understanding, in order to survive and thrive in a natural environment. 😊
Thanks Rookie interesting though hey. 😊
"Life is sweet" I can see a solar panel, battery and inverter next to that pump. Nice work btw. I suppose you will eventually take the water to the bus in a trench, or are there greater plans afoot?
Thanks Ben 😁. Or maybe a portable power station. Or maybe the bus to the water tank 🤔 😁
@@TravelisSweet Looking forward to see whichever route you take.
Travel is sweet off-grid homestead.
Thanks 😁
Oh ok 👍
Ok, good videos, but really, you should let others run your power cables. That is terrible.
Thanks I think 🤔 😅 😄
Hi Andrew. Why do you have 2 x 48V batteries and 1 x 12 V battery?
Hi Joanne the 48v batteries run all the 240v appliances and the 12v does the 12v appliances. Auto electrician said this would work well for our needs. 😊
God bless u for making this video man!!
your most welcome 😁
WOW! Andrew, what a job ahead you have. God give you the strength and good health to keep going. Lots of prayers and love, Mum Y. ❤
Thanks mum
Interesting to see how this goes with the rain. Back breaking work indeed.
Certainly is Ben 😬
Finely bought some battery tools :)
Yep 👍 😁
Love the rig Awesome work
Thanks James 👍 😊
hahahah carefull with thoes free flowing shorts buddy. things dangle hahah
😅🤣
Busy beaver. The python is beautiful.
Lol not much on snakes 😥
Hi Andrew and Carolyn. Wow! Big plans. All the very best. It was nice to meet your family at church over Easter.
Yep certainly is 😁. Mum said you preached a good message 👍.
Sooooo did you find the leaks?
Yep there was a few they are all fixed up now. We had plenty of rain so it helped as find them all 😀
Not a snake fan.
Me neither 🙂
That is scary!
awesome! - we just installed a 3rd tank, very similar method, on our property... can never have too much water! :D how many acres you got there btw ? love to see the Rosa in view!
We have 20 acres here. Always good to have lots of water 😀
Hey Andrew great to have you back. Any plan to drill a water well? There are some small electric or diesel drilling rigs they can go like +30 meters deep worth checkin em up
Thanks Hussain it has been a couple of busy months. We have looked into get a water well but the quotes were 35k and needed to go down at least 150m if not more. So a bit out of our price range ☹️😥
Nice start. I wonder when you will start getting machinery to support you while you work? A plank on a power tool box and a circular saw is a start I suppose. Can you share how much the 21k litres of water cost (including delivery)?
Ben I'm also wondering when I will get machinery 😁. I would love some as soon as I can but as with everything it comes down to $$ and what is the most important. The price on the 25000 litre water tank with delivery was $2840. The 21000 litres of potable water was $640.
@@TravelisSweetYes, shame you have to be a huge youtuber before you can get the gear to make you a huge youtuber. I figured the water would be around the $600 mark. You got around $150 - $200 of water the rest would be for delivery I reckon. I hope you are loving what you are doing. Its going to be a while before youtube fesses up with some reasonable returns.
@BenMitro yep it is a shame but maybe 1 day I will make some money. Have been doing videos for nearly 3 and half years and still haven't got to the basic requirements to start earning any money. But hopefully this year 😁
@@TravelisSweetTheir rationale, I think, is broken. If they were to change settings and encourage the smaller channels, I reckon all would benefit.
@@BenMitro agree 👍 🙂
So interesting ❤
Thanks Driana 👍 😊
🤡
Good luck from UK
Thank you 😊
Hi Andrew. which Model di you put in your bus?
Hey Joanne this is the link www.auto-airconditioners.com/truck-air-conditioner/roof-top-ac-for-truck.html I got the 24v. Hope this helps 😀
Awesome. Am enjoying this series so much.
Thank you so much 😀
Can I ask what the difference is between the city water inlet and the other one
The city water runs directly from the water mains. The other inlet is to fill the fresh water tank and the other inlet is to fill the recirculating shower tank. 😀
That was interesting. I have seen RV style ones that seperate #1 and #2, but combining them makes for much more user friendly system. I imagine the RV style just aren't big enough to support the combined approach. Those prices are very good too.
It seems like it is a good system and at a reasonable price 😊
Glad to see you guys back missed you .. Look forward to seeing your new content ❤️❤️
Thank you 😊
im still doing my conversion, will be ready by march hopefully - if it is id love to see you guys at a meet up! nice! :)
Sounds good. Good luck finishing your bus 😊.
@@TravelisSweetYour videos been a huge help along the way -- also it's been far too hot to get much done lately. I'm up in Bundaberg and it's basically a natural sauna from 10am to 5pm...
@foff-666 yep, the heat has been bad. I can understand not doing much. Hopefully, it will cool down about soon.
Good to see what you have been up to meet up possible april over easter. Count me inwhere ever
Thanks Garry 😊
That's great guys. You are right about age catching up. Looking forward to the block build. I can see farm equipment on the horizon (as you get old, you need aids, like tractors etc. because the dreams, hopes and aspirations don't stop). A meet up would be great. Not sure how it can work for us you know being Vicwegians and all.
Thanks Ben. Would love some equipment so we shall see how we go. We would loved to meet you at the catchup but understand coming to Qld is a bit of step. Maybe we could get a southern meet up organised 😊.
Firstly you did not apply the steps correctly, the first step is doing a test spot with the thermoshield to make sure it sticks, and if it doesn't stick then you must apply the 2nd step which is the Etch Primer once that is completely cured then you do the 3rd step applying thermoshield, you must also do 2 to 3 coats depending on the size of the roof & product amount, if you must apply a 4 litre then you must use it all, and the same if you have to use the 15 litres which normal = to 2 to 3 coat and you must not have any left, once all your thermo coat is completely cured then next is the 4th step which is the Top coat once cured you are good to go :-) ...................... Mistakes a lot of people make is they do not do the correct steps & products and also don't use all the thermoshield & that i when the thermo may not work correctly, so this is WHY you MUST always follow the correct steps with the correct products and correct amount for your sized roof. The Products, company & owner are all amazing :-)
Andrew I know you are in Queensland , we are in NSW but just out of interest we are very close to being finished and to get the bus Re registered, then insured and am wondering how much your mobile home is insured for if at all as we are having discussions about insuring it. I know our insurance company will probably want to inspect it first to value it but that doesn’t matter. Thank you Graeme.
Hi Andrew, what did they end up doing on the front left seat for the lower anchor, did they run an anchor from the original anchor mount, is there a factory one coming off the seat or did them mount off the seat adapting frame? Cheers
Dont worry I found it in your video.
Good job
Thank you 😊
this is so super helpful - i am on day 3 of my 2001-rosa build and have the old wood off and now looking to remove these platforms. awesome information! i'm off to bunnings to buy sore knees and a bad back lolll
😅🤣😂 glad this helps 🙂
Work will never be over, you will always strive to make good stuff better. Absolutely Amazing and can't wait for the road trip video ✌️ Cheers mate
Thanks Hussain 😀
Is there an update on how well it worked? like was there enough water pressure, and which and how often the filters clogged?
Not yet but I will make one 🙂
Ooooft so keen on Alans solar panels! Can you put me in contact with him?
Is there any reason why you didn’t use fibre cement instead of plywood? It’s rot proof, and the weight is similar. Waterproofing is so critical, it’s one of the major household insurance damage claims. Whenever I’ve done it I’ve used sikaflex pro to seal all the joints before applying the membrane because membranes don’t do well sealing larger gaps even if reinforcing tape is used. Usually tradies push “backing rod” foam into the crevices and apply sikaflex pro over that, get a radiused joint, and when cured apply the tape and membrane.
Thanks for the info 👍. I used plywood as that's what I had.
Great get together. So good, you forgot to show us the bi-fold door shower!
Hey Ben it was a great weekend 😀. Yes I did forget to get Alan to show us. Next time I see Alan I will get him to show us.
Are the seats in your bus original or have you put in upgraded ones?
Hey Julie they are upgraded seats. They are from a Nissan Elgrand middle row seats 🙂.
@@TravelisSweet thanks. I’ve got a coaster and tossing up whether to change mine or not. They are in very good condition and although I’ve not spent hours in them, so far pretty comfy.
@@JulieMcInnes69 the standard Rosa seats suck big time. Can't sit in the for a long period of time.
Congratulations Andrew, I've enjoyed watching every video of this build. Enjoy it to the fullest and stay safe. We need a video of a trip in the future, I hope we get to see 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Hussain I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos. Yes there will be travel videos coming g. So stayed 😁🙂
Very impressive Andrew. Just shows how much work is involved. Cheers
Thanks Grant. It's hard to believe I've done all that. 🙂😁
Looking 👀 good.
Thanks cuz
Alot of hard work. Well done...
Thanks mate 👍 🙂
Brilliant! I can’t wait to see the next timelapse video of the construction... Hope to see you guys soon... Rookie 👍
Hey Rookie thanks mate. Yep hopefully catchup soon 🙂
Congratulations! Nice work, great videos. What's next for the channel?
Thanks Ben, hopefully some exciting news in the next couple of weeks 😀
What was wrong with the existing doors, and have you now lost the magazine rack and safety/courtesy door lighting ? Also, should have added dood speakers! :P
The carpet with a grey fleck would have been better, thats gking to show every bit of hair and such. :P
