Thanks for sharing Awsome review
Superb video, clear, concise instructions, the reversal of the line is a great tip and well thought out. May you live long and prosper and when fishing have tight lines. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post and share.
Where can I find the crimps?
Browo
Use what the casino gives you that attaches your card
Jesus....just use kit string and a net....chicken drumsticks..or wings
Love it!
You could leave one end straight, to put inside ur pfd pocket (punch hole to inside vest and tie off) so a small tool can be leashed inside ur pocket... open zipper, pulled out leashed tool, use it and put back and zip back up...the other end can be looped through a handle or cinched on a straight handle ... (needle nose pliers)
Well that last bit wasn’t clear. “You have a loop at both ends and just pull”. Pull on what? The leader? What’s the loop at the other end doing?
Kool!
Awesome idea! I plan on making many of these, maybe 15, for me and my family. I do plan on doing an additional step though, running them through paracord.
The only addition I have seen is to get some shrink wrap tubing and put it over the crimp one the crimp is flattened; keeps the crimp from scratching and scaring things.
Amazing the things u tubers come up with. Going to make some now! Thx. Stay safe!
Thanks man, great at video.
Make some more videos brotha!!!! Really like this video man thanks for making it!
Thanks for the information I appreciate it!!!! El Diario outdoor channel
Phone cord is stronger and I am lucky enough to have kept mine. As to the crimps these are made of a soft compressible metal similar to that used on sailboat wire rigging. Small sizes like these are available quite inexpensively in shops selling fishing tackle as they are used to crimp wire leaders used to catch fish. Rather than hammering them closed I use a pair of Vice Grips to squeeze them closed or else use an actual vice.
Omg thanks
Where did you get the crimp?
Very nice! Added to my things!
Awesome video thank you God Bless.
I just subscribed I like your style.

Crab snares illegal in Florida!! Watch out!
BUY A CRIMPING TOOL.....30 minutes is ridiculous when you can buy 10 for like $12/$14
Well I made a few of these and my results were pretty sad. I have yet to snare my first blue crab with one of these. My main problem with them is that the snare hoops get completely tangled up with each other rendering all of the hoops basically useless. Gotta find a better way without spending a bunch of money but this particular snare simply does not work for me. Thanks anyway.
The thin fishing line will become a problem. You have to use a thicker wire: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2tnydZpotuogqQ.html so that the loops stay open and are NOT too flimsy.
Im gonna make several of these cause this looks like I could use a fishing pole instead of my usual string and net method. Liked the video. Thanks
Hi, where in Florida are you? I'm in the Tampa Bay area. Are crab snares legal statewide? I'm from the NE and they aren't legal where I crabbed. Due to a medical problem that arose, I no longer can run traps from a boat anymore so I'm kinda land locked. I want to try them out, sounds like they are quite productive. How many are you allowed to use at a time in FL? Thanks.... \\\\\\\\\\]\\\
Silly, go to any casino ask for 2 or 4... BAM!
need to do better camera work
I believe the "crimps" are called ferrules.. hope that helps anybody wanting to make this own leases as I intend to. Thanx for the share
They r two dollars on eBay.
Can you do a video using it
lmao....obviously theres no crabs where you're crabbing. This trap will work.
Great idea and video! Thanks! PS you have a lot of orbs in this video (especially at 3:14)
Fantastic I'm making one tonight when I get home
I have to try to make one
How you lock in on the other side? After you pass the lood throught the cage. The one wo the knot?
Where do you get the crimps(collars) from?
I bet Menards or home Depot and farm and fleet would have the crimps.
Jeremy Voegeli Any shop that sells fishing supplies as these are commonly used to crimp metal leader wire used to catch fish. A pack of 20 only costs a buck or two.
I like to see it in action
wow ! very good idea
Nice. A few interesting tricks there. Subscribed!
Brilliant.
I am in the process of building my own crab snare. One of the tips that I would like to add is this: If you use weed-whack filament, it may have been wrapped tightly in it's packaging causing it to have a tight storage "memory" on it. This will cause very small loops to be formed. The cure for this is to cut the filament to a good length, apply a swedge loop to one end, then hang that loop off a flat surface ( i used a table vice). Once suspended, clamp a vice grip onto the loose end. This forces the filament to straighten out through the "magic" of gravity. Take a blow drier and gently warm the filament to help relax the memory in the filament. Do not warm the filament too much - just enough to become slightly warm to the touch. Let the filament hang like that for a few hours to remove the tight "memory" radius on the filament before you finish attaching the snare loops to your trap. I hope that this helps!
Muy bien explicado, gracias
Thanks a lot for the video very easy
If the lines are not directly tied to the box, won’t it fall out when u snare a crab??
You're the best !!!!!!! Thank you
Great idea but REI has these in a 4 pack for about 6 bucks!
Nice video man
what a great tip. thank you for sharing
