I did a google search for “Driver 8 Acoustic “, and this video was among the handful of hits that appeared. Just wow. A wonderful performance, even better than REM’s own acoustic version from 1984, which is also on YT. Fantastic work Tim. The story you write in the description was a delightful read. And you’ve toured with Mark Eitzel. Last Harbor is a song that means everything to me. Such a delight to find this. Thank you.

Thanks Tim, i’ve always had a certain emotional connection to this song since my days of hosting college radio in the early 80s. Dabbled in Guitar on and off through my lifetime and finally picked it up after three years after a battle with prostate cancer,I always struggled with the Travis picking, but I think this is the tune that’s going to take me to the next level. Thank you for a wonderful cover of a great song! Respect

Awww…good stuff! Remind me of this. Ever watch tales from the tour bus? There’s a great episode on Blaze Foley. Here is a short clip that should lead you to a longer clip. But if you see the whole episode you can see Blaze Foley animated and drag sneaking into Kerrville Folk Festival after he got kicked out. Really bummed your set got canceled due to rain… looks like you were at the Saxon on a Wednesday in Austin too. I just subscribe to your channel hopefully next time I won’t miss your local Texas shows! Nice meeting you at the Threadgills stage! I serenaded some friends with your “dear old song and dance” last week at a local South Austin jam. I hope you visit Texas again soon! I was lucky enough to see Mance perform in a coffee shop on the Texas A&M campus back in 1972. I think the cover charge was $2.50 or less, I remember him pulling out his pocket knife as he was telling us stories and then on the next couple of songs used it as a slide. Little did I know that I was watching a true legend. It is a shame that more people dont talk about him.

Great music video! Original and unusual! My respect to Ellington 👍 This is one of my absolute favorite songs! I fell in love with it as soon as I heard the home demo version in 2021 on YT.... I think this theme will always be relevant, because fear is our main enemy and this powerful emotion, the opposite of love, - destroys us, or makes us stronger if we overcome fear. Thank you so much for the studio version, Tim! It was an incredible pleasure to listen to it. I also really like the song "Underground". Hope to hear the studio version someday too.
