    I was on the capsule form of 1.5mg and it gave me energy & I felt great as my under active thyroid was finally functioning well however the capsules gave me reflux. Then I tried using the cream which was too strong and made me feel unwell no matter the strength so after a month of trying I gave up. So next my GP prescribed troches. I had my first small dose 1/4 of 1.5mg + 1/8 th last night ( equal to .56mg) & today I finally felt well. I’ll slowly increase it to find my sweet spot & continue to have blood tests for my thyroid function. I know when my thyroid is functioning well - I just couldn’t seem to respond well to the cream at all , which I rubbed into my forearms where the skin is thinner- as instructed by my GP.

  • @BodyofHarmony
    @BodyofHarmony2 ай бұрын

    I don't know of any online medical practices that offer LDN. It is important to prescribe LDN for a specific inflammatory cause, therefore, we do laboratory evaluation and look at parameters along with patient symptoms. So, it needs a medical office.

    Is it true that NAC can deplete DAO in the gut and raise histamine ??

  • @BodyofHarmony
    @BodyofHarmony2 ай бұрын

    Limited evidence: The research on NAC's impact on DAO is limited, and more studies are needed to confirm the effect and establish safe dosage ranges. Dosage dependence: The potential effect on DAO might be dose-dependent, with higher doses having a greater impact. Individual variability: People may have varying responses to NAC, and some might not experience DAO depletion or histamine issues. People's DAO activity levels vary naturally. Those with already low DAO activity might be more susceptible to histamine issues with NAC.

I don't take any painkillers at all , I am starting LDN this week but my doctor says I should I be fine to start on 4.5mg as it's till LDN low dose .... do you agree with that dosage to start with ? Many thanks For your outstanding video

  • @BodyofHarmony

    Yes, 4.5 was the original dosage we all used. The sleep changes that I explained in the video were for that dosage. Please let us know how you feel within 3-6 months of starting it. Best of luck with LDN. Make sure you are also evaluating your digestive system and hormones, including Cortisol. We got better results when we managed thyroid and cortisol and used anti-inflammatory supplements.

  • @BodyofHarmony
    @BodyofHarmony2 ай бұрын

    Thank you very much for your comments. Most of these NAC derivatives are still under investigation. More research is needed to determine their safety, efficacy, and optimal use compared to NAC. These derivatives are not commercially available yet. Most people can take both NAD and NAC if they do not have any medical conditions. It is always advised to check any supplement with your physician first.

  • @BodyofHarmony

  • @eerbatsirk

    Well explained, thank you! Is it better to take the precursor NAC to increase glutithione or get glutithione directly? I've heard it's better for the body to take the precursors. I have been taking 25mg of niacinamide 2-3 times a day to increase NAD. Do you think this is a good strategy?

  • @BodyofHarmony

    Glutathione shows bioavailability intravenously, if you can get that directly it is better. Yes, Niacinamide as a precursor to NAD.

    New research shows it could cause cancer . Is that so?

  • @BodyofHarmony
    @BodyofHarmony2 ай бұрын

    Here is what I had found a while back: There might be some recent changes. If you have any information other than this would you please let me know. Remember our body is full of NAD! I am not aware of any research that shows D-Ribose, NMN, NR, Niacin, or Nicotinamide cause cancer or any causation or correlation studies attributing NAD+ to causing or exacerbating cancer. There are theories hypothesizing that there might be a relative risk of exacerbating cancer based on the Glycolosis pathways. NAD+ is responsible for more than 500 reactions in the body and the primary source of energy to the human body. On the other hand some of the reactions NAD+ is responsible in are in DNA repair enzymes potentially reducing the chance of cancer. NAD+, through the effects of PARP’s, may both suppress and progress tumorigenesis, this might be related to prevention of DNA mutations. NAD+ should not be used in breast cancer treatment or any cancer treatment which uses PARP inhibitors. Animal studies of wild type mice has failed to provide any evidence of increased tumor size or number. Interestingly, over expression off NMNAT3 raises mitochondria NAD+ and inhibits the growth of glioblastoma cells and supplementation with NA or NAM inhibits tumor growth and multi-organ metastasis in SCID mice. A phase 3 randomized trial of Nicotinamide for skin cancer chemo-prevention concluded Oral nicotinamide was safe and effective in reducing the rates of new non melanoma skin cancers and actinic keratoses in high-risk patients. If someone is undergoing cancer therapeutics they should stay away from all supplements unless they have been approved or prescribed by their hematologist / oncologist. For those with previous history or family history of cancers the same statement should be made regarding NAD+ boosters. Other studies involving FK866 to reduce the NAD+ did not show any tumor remission in patients with advanced solid tumors. Individuals with family history of cancers, previous history of cancer, suffering from cancers, or undergoing cancer therapeutics should not use NR, NMN, NAD+, D-RIbose, or any other supplements that may increase NAD+ without the approval of their hematologist or oncologist.

  • @BodyofHarmony
