  This doesn’t make sense though. If your book sells then it sells. 10% of 10-20 dollars per book is $1-$2 a book. Sell 100,000 copies and you make $100k-$200k Taking averages doesn’t matter, most people write horrible and/or irrelevant books. Even if you did self-publish, and you only sell 5,000 copies like you said, taking 70% of 5,000 is only $3.5k. The issue isn’t traditional publishing, the issue is when people write books that don’t sell

  I want to fail like you and ride my past success forever ... there is an amazing mans version of that and his name is Guy Kawasaki which sounds like a fake name but it's not and he was an early apple tech pioneer that did some great things with tech evangelism and then rode that horse until ... well you get me.
