The fun thing about watching videos of people with collections a size similar to mine is that there's so many movies that most people have drastically different 800+ movie collections. Half the movies you have I don't and half the movies I have you don't. I have about 530 Blu-rays, almost 300 DVDs and about 100 digital only. I don't really own comedies or war movies so that's where most of the differences are. Also MCU. I sold my MCU collection. I have Disney+

Kind of a bummer seeing as I just subbed lol, but I get it. Ultimately you gotta do what you feel is best for you and your life. Can definitely hear the lack of desire for collecting physical media in your voice, or maybe that's more about outside personal factors rather than physical media itself, so maybe I'm just rambling at this point. I watched your entire 2024 collection video, that was long lol, and was looking forward to watching you add on to it, but like I already said, gotta do what's best for you and your life. I could try to help you. Figuring out what to do with your collection? I don't know how you still feel about having all those movies, but I would keep them if I had your collection. IF you think you want to sell them, you don't have to sell all of them at once. Maybe you want to keep some of them. Do you have a plan to replace the space? Do you have a plan to use the money from selling the movies for something? Or maybe keep what you have, but slow down a bit. You still have a lot of space. Plan out how long it might take you to fill that space. What to do with your channel? Go back and watch movies in your collection. Then do a review. I like your channel becuase you like movies similar to what I like. You really have a lot of great movies in your collection. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about movies so that I may watch them. I like seeing a great collection of movies in one space. It gives me ideas of how I want to improve my setup.

Yes I understand. Life has thrown me a huge curveball again. My career has me having to prepare a huge workload for the upcoming entire year. This slows down my free time which means I still will have my sealed movies. I still feel the same about collecting movies and owning them physically. I still love doing it. I have accumulated most of them through garage sales for very cheap. I am not the type to pay top dollar for physical versions of movies. Space is absolutely a problem. Something else I wanted to ask you as a fellow collector: Do you prefer to keep your box sets turned so the spines are facing outward, or so that the front of the box is on display? This is something I've gone back and forth on; I originally had all the DVD boxes turned FORWARD so that people looking at them could clearly see the "DIE HARD - ULTIMATE COLLECTION" (or whatever it was), but as I needed more shelf space, I had to turn them to their spines (where they all are now). I don't have any Blu-ray or 4K boxes yet, but being that all my discs are in one bookshelf unit (but separated out by DVD/Blu-ray & UHD), the addition of some new DVDs pushed everything downward on the shelves, forcing me to turn the box sets to their spines facing outward. How do you like to keep your box sets? Also - I keep my TV show sets, because we don't have many, together with the films. How do you do yours?

Congrats .... only issue is that materials used to make optical discs such as DVD/BR and CD aren't very good at resisting time. 50 years tops and your whole collection will be rendered to a big pile of unusable plastic waste. Meaning you won't be able to pass it down to younger generations which is a shame. Now you know why important data and historical data is NEVER stored on physical medias such as optical discs: they aren't reliable. Have a nice day.
