I'll share my answer with your FAQS: 4. Why do I keep the plastic on them? Same reason, you had when you said a lot of the movies I pick up I have seen, but haven't gotten around to rewatching them because I'm so busy with life. However, I can easily see myself rewatching my dvds again. So I don't plan on just keeping them sealed. Also, there are just so many new movies that come out that I can borrow from my library or watch on Demand. 5. Do I plan on selling my movies? No. I bouth them because I want to watch them and have them ready to watch at my leisure. However, I have duplicates that I have stumbled across and I picked up some dvds that I saw once and don't plan on watching ever again. Those I would like to sell or trade or give away at some point.

Can you show your movie watching set up? How did you decide your shelving placement? Did you have outlet access in mind when putting your shelving? I didn't have a plan. I just put movies on a shelf above my tv. Then I bought some small bookcases(4) that hold about 90-100 dvds which are not in the way of any outlets. Then my dad drilled shelving in to the wall on the side which holds I think in the 100's. Then I already had some book cases and stacked about 80-100 dvd on those. The rest I have in the garage.

Great questions. I’ll post my movie watching setup soon. As for shelving this was the only empty wall to put them. I’ll give a full tour of my “man cave” in an upcoming video to answer more of shelf placement and outlets, etc.

I'll share my answer with your FAQS: 5a. A wishlist? Yes I have one too, that I keep in an excel spreadsheet. I also have all my movies logged in an excel spreadsheet on my phone so that I can look up what I have if I want. By the way, I saw briefly that you had the movie "HER" on your wishlist. I saw some of that, and in my opinion, I thought it was really bad. So bad that I stopped watching it about halfway through because I didn't like the concept. It was a sad sorry concept. A lot of movies you have match my tastes, but not that one. 6. What happens when I fill up this shelf? For me, I am already overloaded and don't have the space to display all my movies. I keep the rest in boxes in my garage. My plan is to go through the movies I haven't seen and decide if I still want them. I am slowly going through them and putting aside a box or boxes to take to some place. Yes I remember very well going to a Blockbuster or Hollywood video, pick up a movie, rewind it, then return it. Just writing that reminds me of the movie Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black. I love having the physical version for the same reason you do.

Hello from Oregon, do you have a dedicated 4k player? I just purchased the Panasonic UB820. This has been a top tire player for 3+ years now. Took me about 20 minutes to set the settings correctly for my OLED. Everything from Dolby Vision, Atmos, Bitstream, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) Etc. Awesome collection, I shop at Best Buy myself. About 10 miles from the girlfriends house. Thanks for the video

Hey Joel thanks for your comment. I don’t have a physical 4k disc player YET. I do have a 4k Apple TV though so when I redeem my digital copies I can enjoy 4k. I am looking to snag a PS5 in the near future to enjoy my titles on…also I just remember I do own an Xbox series X so I guess I can watch a 4k movie haha but it’s not in my living room currently.

@@BelieveInAndr3w Hello, that’s great. However keep in mind, respectfully. The PS5 is awesome, but it doesn’t have Dolby Vision for the titles that support that format. I’m so into our movies I try to get the best possible resolution and product. But that’s just me, take care. Heading to Best Buy later on today.

Cool. I'll share my answer with your FAQS: 1. How many movies? I have about 190 movies on VHS. A lot which were recorded from tv. So I don't actually have 190 VHS tapes. Maybe like 80 Tapes. I have 1,400 Dvds and some have many movies on a dvd case like a 4 movie set. I have about 220 Dvd tv shows. I have 65 movie on Blu Ray. 2. What movies do I buy? Mostly, about 90% I guess, are from garage sales of movies that I think I am interested in or like a lot. They are super cheap. About $1 or less is the average. Sometimes my local Library has a book sale which has dvds. So I pick up a lot for really cheap. Other times I get them online or from black Friday in the past for a little more, like average $4. I get them from ebay, walmart, best buy the ones I really want. Just recently I bought a set of dvds because it had Last Action Hero and Bloodsport. I haven't found those at garage sales, but I really wanted to have it.

For the can you have on display what makes you choose those? I have 2 cans on my display. They both say Duff beer from the Simpsons. One of them was given to my dad for his birthday or Christmas from our neighbor because he loves the Simpsons. That Duff beer was from Australia. I think it was a short term production and the company was sued. So its rarely found anywhere. The other Duff beer I won in a spin the wheel game at a gaming convention. I gave that to my dad for his retirement. I also, have on display a Simpsons metal lunchbox that I found at a gadgets and gizmos store. My neighbor has given us a lot of Simpsons stuff over the years. One other major thing is a big simpsons poster signed by Matt Groening. Another thing is a Krusty pull string doll.
