HMs are no longer a thing but what if lackluster HM moves were buffed (besides the usual power and/or accuracy buff) Cut, increased crit chance Whirlpool, part of me wants to have the initial attack to deal significantly more damage where the trapping effect isn’t why you used the attack Rock Smash, 100% chance to decrease opponent defence by 1 stage Rock Climb, make it a ground type attack that has the ability to damage flying/levitating Pokemon Some forgotten moves I want to mention are: -Comet Punch could be fighting type bullet seed would give the move a niche -Flame Burst could be fire type aura sphere (which would mean removing it’s original niche of dealing chip damage to the non targeted Pokemon in double battles) -I would like to see Silver Wind and Signal Beam return (even if it means removing Silver Wind’s secondary effects) because currently Bug Buzz and Pollen Puff are the only decent wide spread bug special attacks

I would make razor wind a 100 BP flying type move that raises speed on the first turn then attacks on the second turn unless tailwind is up then it attacks instantly Edit: HOLY CRAP WE HAD ALMOST THE EXACT SAME IDEA! I would increase the power because electro shot in the rain still has high base power

4:14 I think it should be a water type move, it makes more sense than a steel type move Literally all pokemon that learn it are water type and Cloyster was the first one, that makes it more fitting

It may be plagiarizing Mega Sharpedo, but Strong jaw would probably be better for Luxray than No Guard. That way he gets a wickedly strong crunch, and thunder fang is actually a good STAB move now.

Gen 5 is my favorite generation, too! Black was my first Pokemon game, and Maractus was one of my favorites. I did usually use Simisage more than it in battle, but I LOVED using it in the dress-up thingy (can't remember what it's called unfortunately) and its cry is awesome. It definitely deserves more love than Gamefreak gave it.

So, I know Onix would also need Constrict added to its learnset just so the one on Brock's team could avoid out-speeding and one-shotting everything you have access to at that point in the game. I'm also assuming the idea is that Steelix would keep the same moves and abilities upon evolution as original Onix/Steelix in this scenario (in other words, its whole loadout changes to a more defensive build, not just stats)? Given that Waterfall was Seaking's signature move in Gen 1 that then got a flinch chance in later generations, being a speedy 'mon would make a lot of sense. But, yeah, design might not quite fit speed. Yeah, Arbok fits being bulky in contrast to fast Silviper. Doesn't really gain much from becoming a low Special Attack Dark type for Gen 3, but that's basically every Dark type's struggle before the Physical/Special split. Okay, Hypno's attacking stats were even, a rare mixed attacker of its typing, but then you made it favor Special Attack? eh, I guess that's fair, but I'd have kept its attacking and speed stats the same, and simply buff Defense all the way up to match its current Special Defense, and maybe also boost that a bit. Make it a Psychic type Umbreon equivalent that kinda needs to lean on Dream Eater (as a level-up move) to deal big damage with the rest of any added moves going more towards utility. Your suggested Abilities would fit well enough, but I feel it needs to keep Insomnia as one of its standard options. Maybe over Shadow Tag, to not overlap Wobbuffet's style of tankiness. If anything, allowing its victims to run seems more thematic. In fact, if i were to give it a secondary typing, it'd be Ghost instead of Dark (not on Drowzee, though), including it as an Agatha team member instead of showing up for any Gym Leaders. One of the better candidates to help patch up Kanto's lack of Ghost types. I do like the Parasect Ghost angle, too, but I feel like it could also stand to have even more Zombie-like secondary and hidden abilities (such as Cursed Body or Mummy) alongside keeping Effect Spore. Honestly, even though the all the 4 times weaknesses makes it very tough to build it bulky and slow (and DEFINITELY doesn't make sense to be fast), it'd kinda be cool to figure out a way to make it work on its own with the Bug/Grass typing, but I suppose being a switch-in prediction for water type moves was the best it could manage, since even an extra 50 points each in HP and both defenses would still leave it pretty vulnerable after replacing Dry Skin. Guess it could have Filter or a similar new signature ability, if only as a hidden one? I don't know, guess I'm kinda exaggerating. Honestly, I feel like, if Dewgong isn't kept with even attacking stats, it should have more Special Attack while Walrein is reworked to be a physical attacker after the physical/special split. Just fits their designs better. Honestly, every single Pokemon should have at least been considered for stat reworks in Gen 4 to fit their intentions better. Yeah, Dewgong has a horn, but it could be given a Special-based signature move to use with it or something. It's a pretty stumpy little thing to be using for physical horn moves. Oh well. I started off only wanting to make quick comments on each entry, but ended up getting carried away after a while.

I think Razor Wind is based on the idea of the blade weasel Japanese yo-kai that moves so quickly and cuts so fast it's like being sliced by the invisible wind. I don't know if it was maybe a leftover move from some beta Pokémon, because a lot of Gen 1 moves were basically signature moves, but they did have a sickle weasel in the beta of GSC that eventually became Sneasel. I think that's why it's not Flying type, but that's a flimsy reason. Also, Sky Attack is another terrible move with a similar deal. It requires a turn to charge and then the damage you deal has a high crit ratio and a chance to flinch, but that's it. The damage I believe got upped between generations, but it's still not worth it. I would love to see it get the Electro Bolt treatment: have the user raise their Attack +1 on the charging turn, and remove the charging turn entirely during Tailwind. Maybe for balance you can make it a little less accurate or remove one of the original secondary effects, but now it's a really interesting move. This would be great to throw onto your Flying types, especially for doubles where Tailwind is common. Fast physical Flying types like Hawlucha or Aerodactyl suddenly look a lot scarier, and Pokemon like Corvinight or Honchkrow now have a new attacking option that doesn't give recoil.

You basically gave Blissey/Chansey Scald. Your alterations to the timeline will forever change competitive pokémon. In all seriousness, imagine being forced to switch in your physical attackers on a ~16% burn chance every time The Egg God switched into your special attackers. Also 100 power is WAY too strong, you're underestimating Blissey's special attack. Keep it as a physical move because thats much more funnier. Maybe*** if it had a maximum of 8 pp it could be played around? Even still, Scald Blissey just has "Uber for longer than Mew" aura.

I’d make Rock Sssmash a rock move too, I’d buff Rock Ssslide to 95% accuracccy and 75 bassse power, Rock Tomb to 70 bassse power and 100% accuracccy, Ssstone Edge to 90% accuracccy… damn, rock movesss need buffsss.

I think for a few of these moves, their existence pre-gen 4 also played a factor. Reminder, though most people know this by now, Gens 1-3 did not have a physical/special split. They're still pretty bad regardless, but that could have affected them as well.

This is all highly circumstantial. Just make sure you have another surf pokemon in your party as backup. Or maybe a pokemon that can fly. This guy was waiting for someone with only _one_ transport pokemon in their party, and it had to be a surfing one. Not only that, but he asked for _one specific_ surfing pokemon. Seriously. Just have another prepared just in case. Always carry two.

I'm aware this video is nine months old, but what is this "Special Attack" and "Special Defence" nonsense? If you wanted to fix these Pokémon in their native generation, you cannot talk about stuff like that. What is the aim of this video, buffing these Pokémon outside of Generation I or buffing them inside Generation I?

For Razor Wind, I would make it sharply raise your Crite Rate on the first turn, removing the higher crit chance from the second turn, and make its accuracy 95%. Its niche would be as a role compretion. With power herb, you could basically set up and chip at the same time. Not many mons would use it but its an option

I'd argue Spike Canon technically isn't obscure enough to count for this subject due to being so famously associated to Cloyster with Skill Link. But making it Steel type is always a treat. Just makes sense.

@@Shalakor I am really doubting this statement, especially since there's other, significantly more worthwhile things Cloyster can do instead of Spike Cannon, like Rapid Spin, Spikes, Explosion, Hydro Pump, Surf, Shell Smash, and Ice Shard. Plus, what does NORMAL add to the Ice/Rock coverage in Icicle Spear and Rock Blast?
