Nice video! We are blessed here to have so many airports within a short distance of each other! We live in Port Saint Lucie so to the north we have Orlando international (MCO) and Sanford too far from us as.

This may be disappointing to hear for some, but what if I outperform the Chicago Geographer on states from memory? By the way one of my devices is unable to load the map imagery properly, lowering my score.

This is actually useful for fishing because you can find large areas that (probably) have fish in it near you.

Free pronunciation here: HI's contribution is on the island of Ni'ihau, whose apostrophe influences its pronunciation: NEE-ee-how, rather than NEE-how. In reality, its visitors are lower than "not many"; it's actually 'none'. Its nickname is the Forbidden Isle, since visitors aren't allowed, which is an attempt by the historic owners, the Robinson family, to prevent the Hawaiian language from going extinct. It's the only place on earth where Hawaiian is the official language. The town of Truth or Consequences, NM, got its name decades ago when a popular TV game show of that name announced that they'd televise the show in the town that was first in the country to change their name. This one won. For those curious viewers, the mystery tribe in MN which has Red Lake is the Chippewa, also known as Ojibwa. The length of the Ponchartrain Causeway in LA is 24 mi./38.6 km., and is the USA’s longest bridge)

3:42 Australia's largest lake is Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, the one you (correctly) assumed/guessed, and not Lake Gairdner as this map would have you believe. Map-maker must have some dodgy sources, spreading misinformation several times in the video.

Ok I know I commented already but I kept on watching and got more to say ^^ sorry not sorry One the one hand - I do think it pays off to gain knowledge about certain algorithm mechanics and such. As you have discussed in this stream. And then draw some conclusions from it. i.e. creating a seperate channel for shorts! On the other hand, thinking about algorithms should imho sometimes be pushed a little bit to the back (not to be completely ignored, but also not on the forefront of you mind the whole time, you know). Instead, I'd like to encourage you think more along the lines of: -what are topics YOU are passionate about. The ones that you just really feel like you have something to say about. Something you just wanna get out there. -what (skill, expertise, etc) is it that makes you special, in that regard (ie what makes people wanna hear these facts FROM YOU specifically) -think about the target audiences for these kinds of topics: HOW do they wanna consume this information (which format, where on the scale between short vs in-depth, etc) These are more like the theoretical basis for it all. "The algorithm" is, of course, the mechanical method that YT uses to implement said basis. But if you are clear about these basic aspects, the algorithm should just naturally do its thing for you. Think topics vs formats. How to fit your topics into recurring formats. (FWIW, I personally thought "25k in each state and canadian province" was absolutely bloody brilliant btw! If you can get another idea like this, I think you can also make a Geoguessr channel go well!) I do think people wanna hear what you have to say, especially about these urban topics where we obviously expect you to have so so much expertise. But in what format. Maybe try a series that is a bit more "snackable but also bingeable" (ie 4-7 minutes per video, but a series that belongs together and makes sense to watch in succession). Also try a version where one topic would yield one long-format video (25min+). See how it goes. The latter might get more comments and engagement, the first might get more clicks... "Largest lake in each state" could also have been 50 tik toks and shorts if you wanted them to be. I'm not saying they should have been -- I personally have no idea what would actually do well in this niche -- I'm just listing options. when it comes to geoguessr content, yes I think "just" simply making some gg videos doesn't do that well anymore. If I wanna "just casually watch some gameplay", I go watch twitch, not youtube. I do think you can do well with it if you have an angle to it. Specific fun concepts, specific types of collabs, specific strengths and skill sets. The people who do well with GG content, imo, have successfully picked their niche within the niche and do a good job at that very very specific thing.

Is it an option to keep this channel geoguessr stuff, and make a new channel for the "largest lake in each state" type of videos? Sounds to me like that would make more sense, since the (substantial within this niche) subscriber count mostly subscribed b/c of Geoguessr... so it would make sense to me, to keep this channel for the Geoguesst stuff.... hmmm interesting question! Would the "largest xyz in each state" countries do as well on a fresh channel as they do now? hmmm
