I just sold my Z3M roadster & replaced it with a low mileage R231 SL500 in hyacinth red with cream leather. Not the AMG SL63 admittedly. But not much less power or performance. It's more than enough. In fact I'm in awe of it. The fact it takes an extra 200 or 300 milliseconds to reach the legal speed limit compared to the AMG is immaterial. 0 - 60 in 4.5 is fine with me.I'm loving it to bits. I considered an SLK55. But they're almost as expensive. A great little V8 roadster, but less car for the money. SLK55 £55k new. SL500 £85k new but only £3 or £4k more second hand for the SL. And it's an almost all aluminium engineering masterpiece. When I test drove the Slk55 the engine felt special. When I drive my SL500 the whole car feels special. BTW your video is very informative. But the background music you've added is unnecessary & mildly irritating

hard to believe the same company that built that is responsible for some of the trash that's on the road today. Love 366 paint. What color is your canvas? Interesting contrast with the Brilliant Silver pano. I've never driven a 6, but have read that they can hold their own agains the late 500's & even the 600's which were particularly heavy in the nose with that M120 shoehorned in the same engine compartment that an SL280 used haha. I'd imagine the 320's got the same 21 gal (enormous relative for a 2 pass roadster) fuel tank, so you can probably get a ton of life out of a single tank even if you put your foot down pretty regularly.

320 and 300 models were never made with 4 speed. Earlier versions used 722.5 transmission, which is the same hydraulic 4 speed as the 500sl but with an additional electronic overdrive gear. And the one you drive post facelift has the 722.6 which is an all electronic 5 speed.

All models had 4 speed hydraulic box at some points in the evolution. The 5 speed with electronic overdrive and the horribly low ratio 1st gear came and then the 5 speed electronic as the technology evolved. So the video is correct.
