Nice video! I'm looking at both of these machines. Regarding the battery charge on Titan you should probably charge everyday od use. According to Titan as the battery charge decreases so does the accuracy. It might not loose accuracy until lower than half charge but I think if I had one I'd keep it fully charged as much as possible. It's great that the Titan battery is a standard 18V Power Drill battery you can get at a hardware store

i wonder if you got the highest spin paddle on the market, and perfected this technique i wonder what the greatest combination of speed and height would be. physics would dictate it, it is calculable. I just want to know. I am gonna ask Chat GPT one second... it was pretty crazy, it made this whole python code and ran all these simulations - i don't think it is right though haha, this is what it came up with: *Optimal Serve Parameters:* Based on the simulation results, the optimal parameters for your pickleball serve are: *Initial Speed:* 10.7 m/s (approximately 23.94 mph) *Launch Angle:* 10 degrees *Initial Height:* 1 meter (waist height) *Top Spin:* 2141 RPM *Height at Highest Point:* 62 inches (so less than 2 nets) *Ball Speed when it hits the ground:* 22.48mph *Ball Spin when it hits the ground:* 2141 RPM These parameters should allow you to achieve a serve that is fast, high, and lands at the desired distance with maximum top spin. What do you think? does that sound right? to me it sounds like a very slow serve that doesn't even go that high above the net? dang - we need to get these Ai models out on the courts ASAP
@pickleballplaybook2 күн бұрын
That actually sounds right haha! Cause a net length above the net will get it deep enough. Not too sure on the speed though. I feel like you could aim lower and hit harder and get the same result. Pretty cool it can do that though!

I love (receiving) this serve. I almost always win the point. Its really not a good serve against anyone that has reasonably good agility. Its so telegraphed as well... Does anyone NOT recognize it before it comes off the paddle?!? In almost all cases, it lands shorter and allows me a more aggressive return and an even shorter trip to the NVZ. On rare occasion, one can hit a deep one to the backhand from the AD side that can add pressure, but its simply not worth it overall. The ball whistles audibly through the air as it barely clears the net and lands just inside the baseline too. However, what PP doesn't mention is the "hard part" of achieving say 95+% consistency rate. Using a ball hopper, I've hit 1000s of practice serves. Brilliant! How do you do that?
@@pickleballplaybook you get a KZread influencer to mention it to the company so they make the design change on the zipper stitching ;-). Super easy for them to change in their process.
Thanks for the feedback 👍 We will bring this idea up at our next product design meeting.
I really appreciate you making this video. I told every KZreadr I know to make this video (including you) and you beat the others to the punch. One thing you missed, the Titan also comes in a form factor like the Erne for $200 cheaper. It's the same machine internally, just a different form factor.
This is true. A big drawback to this form, though, is that you cannot store your pickleballs in this version of the Titan ball machine.
I should have mentioned the Ace. Never thought about it! It’d still be the same exact score. Only thing that’s slightly less convenient with the Ace is that you have to carry your balls separately!
@@pickleballplaybook right. You might have also figured out who is building the Ace given it is eerily similar to the Erne.
@@kadendominus123 but it's way lighter so if you don't want to can't easily lift 50+ pounds the Titan Ace maybe better and It holds more balls too. But now I wonder if it has that center of balance issues that the Ernie has when moving it around?

The only think more annoying than jumping around, it is Nadel picking at a wedgey
Haha true that!
Quong did not invent this serve. That said, he's probably my favorite player.
No one knows who invented it, but he definitely popularized it 🙌
Great video! My ball machine choice came down to these two - I plumped for the Titan and so glad I did as it was the clear winner. One error in your vid though - the hopper extension on the Titan doesn't ADD an *extra* 240 balls (for a total of 325) - it brings the total capacity to 240. From the Titan website: "The Titan Ball Hopper Extension increases the ball capacity of the Titan One ball machine to 240 pickleballs."
Good point, I read that wrong. Thanks! I just got my hopper. Now I need to get some more Pro S1s to fill it!
So, even at that price, they aren’t willing to inventory their products? Is this really such a low volume product?
Yeah I don’t know what the deal is. I feel like they’d get so many more sales if they just put it into I no entry, but I don’t think they have enough storage space or something.
Why not use the titan ace as a comparison to the erne?
It’s definitely not similar with having to carry a hopper, overall size, shape. It’s still be the same exact score though because it’s win, tie, and lose in all the same categories 👍
Nice, informative video. I was already leaning towards Titan, this sealed the deal.
Glad I could help! Both great machines 🙌
