    SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER Does anyone know how much this trailer weighs and if there’s any pick up truck like an f350 tremor that could haul it??

    My OLD Smartie was just coming up to his 20th birthday when I decided to retire him. He gave me great service and lots of memories for about 8 years. I spent a lot keeping him running but like us all, when we pass the 50k, the small things that keep going begin to add up! I dropped by the garage where I bought my original Smart Pure 450 and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this 2016 Smart Proxy on the forecourt! It was love at first sight! Most noticable thing for me was the Turbo that comes in useful when overtaking on motorways. DOwn side for me is the media console. There's no SatNav installed and I'm struggling to find an outlet that can fit the right one for me.

    I've been thinking about a Smart for some time now. I'm about 6'4" but have more legs than torso. I see in the video that Gregg's legs appear to not fit under the steering wheel of the 453, which would mean driving with the steering wheel in between the legs. Does this become uncomfortable? I also see that Gregg's legs do appear to fit under the steering wheel of the 451?

    I’m so curious. I doubt you will read this but there was an all white Spacecraft fifth wheel that came into Burlington Bay Campground in Two Harbors,,Mn. It was built for them. I believe they lived in it full time and I’m pretty sure they had four kids. It was several years ago. I don’t know how many. Was that you??? 😀

    I wonder if there could ever be an option for another private bedroom in there? It looked like it had two living areas, one could totally be a room on a slide out. I might not be making sense lol but I'm just thinking about my pipe dream of having a big family and private space for everyone to go on a long summer road trip in one of these

    Gregg, been looking at the 453 for quite some time now. I've owned 3 mini's including one that was a classic from the Netherlands. Loved that car, should of never sold it. I just love small cars period. I got so tired of the whole, "It's so cute" comments, or "It's a death trap" when actually we both know they're extremely safe for there size. Bottom line, they're cool as hell, fun to drive, good gas mileage, AC, cruise, heated seats, stereo, etc. I'll buy a White 453 and probably wrap it in a cool solid color, then get some nice looking light weight wheels to take it to the next level. That's a great video and I appreciate you covering all of the pro's and con's of each model. I saw a 453- 5 speed manual on Auto Trader the other day. The stock 5 speed gear shifter looked a lot nicer as did the boot. I was curious what you knew about the 5 speed manuals and if it's a much more desired transmission than the automatic...? The automatic sounds like it shifts really nice now, I'd driven an early 451 when they first came out and was disappointed in how rough it shifted. I Personally like the new body versus the old, not to mention the added HP, Power Steering, etc. So here's the big question Gregg, I've heard to many different stories on maintenance and parts availability... What's the real truth, can you still get service and parts for the 453...??? I've heard know one will work on them, some Mercedes dealerships not at others. I don't really care to buy one if I can't get parts or service. Can you please clear that up for everyone...? Also, if there are engine upgrades, chips or even cold air intakes for better performance available...? Thanks again, we all appreciate it. I'll watch for your reply.... :) 4/26/24

    I pull a 41' toy hauler so I can bring more toys. I also set up my truck like an RV so I can pull my 25' fishing boat for tuna trips. I can't wait to go to the HDT rally to see all the different configurations. Like most people, my setup is a work in progress.

    If you are going to tow an RV do you need a sleeper unit? Why not buy a single axle day cab truck for this purpose?

  • @rvhaulers
    @rvhaulers3 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the question. There is an advantage to having the sleeper. It usually allows us to title the RVHauler as a motorhome, which makes our insurance and drivers license requirements VERY attractive. When it is no longer a commercial truck, we have far cheaper insurance and registration costs. In most states and Canadian provinces, in order to title the RVHauler as a motorhome, we need to have a number of things such as a fridge, sleeping area, cooking device (microwave), shore power etc. The sleeper allows this! Also, many of my clients use the RVHauler as a mini-motorhome itself! Drop the larger 5th wheel and establish a home base, and then take the much more nimble RVHauler itself for adventures in less accessible camping areas. Thanks for watching! Gregg
