    I found your wonderful videos by searching CSM. Sorry for the loss of your Dad…it isn’t easy at any age 💗. I see that you live in Maryland. I’m in Maryland too, just north of the DC border. I’m brand new to using a CSM. I just purchased a Tru-knit and am watching videos and tutorials to learn all I can. Do you teach classes outside of the great videos you post? Do you participate in any crank-ins? I’m interested in meeting up with other CSM knitters. Thanks…😄🧶💗

    Are there different versions of the tuck stitch ? I watched one done on a flatbed the used every second needle out of work, knit two rows . Then every forth like this for 2 rows and repeat . It looked very different .

    I believe you can do it different ways to make the fabric look different. So by taking needles out of work at different rates. I think it is still considered a tuck stitch

    I really love your videos! I love that you do them with your family around. Never apologize for that! This video is very helpful to me. I am new with cranking on my Erlbacher. I have been thinking of getting this cylinder size. Have you used it much? Do you have the Ribber for it?

    I havent used my 48 as much as my 64 (that's my most used). But I love that I can crank dk socks too. I only have a 64 stitch ribber dial. But they are both divisible by 2 and 4. So I can do a 1x1 of a 3x1 rib.

    I get so excited when I see that you’ve uploaded another cranking video!! You’ve been in my craft room on the screen for many a project, and I thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your Socktober series was wonderful - I hope you do something similar in the future. It made such a difference when I was a rank beginner and really struggling.

    I would love to do another socktober series. But I would also like to try and be more consistent with posting cranking videos through the month/year. I am glad it helped you. That is my main goal, to just help. It can feel like a struggle when we are home and no one else has a machine right by your side. So many of us aren't going to have a close friend who also lives 10 mins away. 😊

    I also have a 48, 64, 72 and 80. My 48 cranks DK weight yarns. And my 80 can do lace weight. The diameter of the cylinders are all the same. So spreading the needles across the circumference at different t rates.

    Thank you so much for sharing. What does rounded or semi rounded heel/toe means?

  • @aquilladahun-aleftyknitter9127
    @aquilladahun-aleftyknitter9127Ай бұрын

    You're welcome. It's the way to decrease the stitches. If you decrease only 1 needle each row, it's more of an angled/slanted toe. If you decrease 2 needles on each side 4 to 6 times (and increase the same way) it gives more of a rounded toe. But you need to accommodate extra foot rows for that since the toe will be a little more shallow. I hope that makes sense. I will add that to my list of demonstrations

    Well girl, kiddies don't come with instructions. Good for you folks doing all the research first. I skipped grade 2 in 1967 and honestly the only thing was, I was Always 1 year younger, sometimes it doesn't matter but I couldn't take driver's education with my friends. Also I wasn't allowed to drink and party with my friends when they turned 18.... kinda sucked 😅

    I am a person who as a child I was offered to advance. My parents chose not to. Obviously I don’t know what would have happened had I advanced but my choice would have been to advance. I love learning and being in classes where I wasn’t learning was very difficult for years. I’m so glad you are listening to her. I don’t have any advice really but I’m sending all sorts of hugs to you guys.

    Midway through 1st grade I got moved up to 2nd grade because I was ahead of the other kids who were still learning to read. Bear in mind, this was the 70's; a whole different world ago. You're already on the right track if you're working on the material she would've covered in the year she'll skip. (No one caught me up in math, and that followed me the rest of my life.) My only other concern would be, is she ready to be a year ahead of her friends from this past year? Again, this was the 70's so I got dumped into a whole new class with kids who decided I must think I'm better than they are if I skipped a grade. Considerable bullying ensued but again, the 70's; most teachers' responses to it were, "He's only hitting you because he likes you." Otherwise congratulations, because like you, she's a lady ahead of her time! <3

    Always, always, always advocate for your child! I went through a very similar situation with my son at that same age. I asked the teacher to give him extra worksheets to do while the other children were finishing their work. Just like Haze, he wasn't trying to be a troublemaker, he was just bored. The next year he was placed in a gifted and talented class and it was just what he needed. Knowing that you have her back will stay with her forever. ❤

    Your sweater is so pretty! I wonder if you could stripe the sleeves with your leftovers and another color, like the one you used for sleeve you have now? Just a thought! The solid one with the cuff the way you did it is pretty too, and maybe stripes would look wonky with the quilty look of the blocks. 🤔 When you were talking about books and you said about the one with all the feels, I'm like *absolutely not* 😂 There's got to be something wrong with me about that. 🙄 That's such a cool thing about Haze's school opportunity. I have no input to offer, but I am confident that you and John, being such fully caring and invested parents, will do everything you can to make sure it's a positive experience for her. And if the school is equally on board with their support, I can't imagine she won't succeed and thrive. Be kind to yourselves while you get through that inevitable initial transition and adjustment phase. You got this! 💕

    Many moons ago…my oldest brother didn’t do his homework but passed all the tests. Back then he was placed in a private school instead of being held back. They didn’t realize that he wasn’t being challenged. My second to youngest brother (I have 5 brothers 😬) he dropped out of school for the same reason. When he needed to have a GED to get a job, he took the test without studying and passed with flying colors. Keep in mind this was in the 70s and 80s. I encourage you to follow your heart instead of what the system thinks is best for Hazel! I know, easier said than done! 😂
