Acogs look good sure but personally I much prefer a simple red dot or 4x scope

Doesn't do a thing for me. I had a hankering to build one...went through the trouble. Too long, too heavy, fixed stock. Got rid of it. Not that it isn't beautiful, and a 20" has the best ballistics.

The 3.5 LED Acog will change your entire opinion on Acogs as a whole, IMO it is the best optic on the planet if you learn to shoot it with both eyes open it’s just as fast as a red dot 0-25 and makes hitting 6” plates at 100-500 a joke for someone with little to no experience. The big issue is the cost at 950-1350$ depending on the model.

How does it feel handling the rifle with a mpvo? Are you able to c clamp comfortably? I’m having a hard time deciding on mpvo or lpvo with an offset dot.
@jamesshoots14 сағат бұрын
Hey, the C Clamp isn’t bad at all; but since the MPVO is much longer than any of my other optics, it does make me have to place my support hand just a tiny bit closer to the muzzle than I did when I just had a red dot on this gun. I think the bigger change is the ability to grip the charging handle. Absolutely doable, but it takes *that much* more coordination since the MPVO does get in the way slightly. A cantilever mount will help push the MPVO forward, but I already have that on here. But yes, the C Clamp is still very comfortable and not an issue!

Very nice! I haven’t used the ACOG/RMR combo but I hear it’s great. Also, not exactly what you mentioned you’re after, but another combo is an MPVO/red dot. I have the Primary Arms GLx 3-18x44 FFP with the Holosun 407c. Used a LaRue Tactical LT788-2 to mount it at 12 o’clock. It works well, but not sure if this setup/tier of optic is what you’re looking for. Also, if it makes a difference, technically what I have is an MPVO, not an LPVO.

I've seen RCOs come out of IED blasts not only functional, but zeroed. The iron sights on the A4 will probably break before the RCO. I've seen them buried, ran over, dropped from rooftops 30 feet to the ground. The RCO is bombproof, grunt proof, o-shit proof...it just works. And it is a God damn cheat code on the A4. Compact. Lightweight. Good glass. Intuitive, useful reticle that is easy to use. Illuminated without yet more batteries to stow in an already over encumbered infantryman's kit. Nearly indestructible. There is alot to like about the RCO without a lot of drawbacks. Yeah, it has short eye relief. So does the aperature on the irons. If you chipmunk cheek and nose to charging handle like you're trained, it isn't much of an issue, and it results in a really good field of view. Yeah, it is expensive. Buy once, cry once. It doesn't work well for room clearing, but we had ways around that too, and nowadays we have the option to piggyback an RMR. Didn't have that in my day. The ACOG is still not only relevant, but a really solid choice even compared to modern LPVOs.
