if you attack after a sidehop you can go into a spinning slash GP. Not very useful since you can just do the sword->axe GP instead, but it exists

is this considered a bug cause I literally just broke his head and left the quest no pitfall or shock traps at all and I got it at my first try

Nah, it's just how MH works. Each part of a monster you break adds a chance for a part to drop as a reward. In this case, simply breaking the head gives a high chance to get a Scalp. If you Return From Quest, you get rewarded for whatever parts you broke but if you *Abandon* the quest, you get nothing. You can check the % chance for various part in your Hunter Notes.

Breaking parts is what gets rewards. Hunter Notes will list them along with drop chance.

I was going to main bow again this game but moved to sword and shield. From the little I used it this game I like the healing arc shot cause I think it's free healing. (just stumbled into using it) From the one hunt I used it it was cool to change a drawn shot to healing as the monster jumped out of range and dodge into the healing for another repositioned draw. Meant I could keep firing and if I got hit while making a mistake I would be healing as I rolled to a stop on the ground sometimes. Definitely will look into piercing shot type. Seems like it would fit my style more than the rapid shot type guides other guides said was the only good one.

Dang, I gotta say this is a nice guide, I just finished up playing through the game with dual blades, then long sword, looking to sharpen my bow skills up for sunbreak. This guide was super nice. Do you have any reccomendations for keybind changes on PC?

Thank you much! I've only played on Switch so I'm afraid I cant offer advice for keybinds. Fwiw, I would guess assigning crafting to an easily spammable/accessible key is praxis since it may not always be best to *craft all* as opposed to craft individually.

For the 1st...I'm not sure lol. I assume there's a very short delay between a grab attack hitting & the game issuing the command to force the hunter to sheath. So like he hit, I hit during the delay, KO'd, the command is issued but it just results in me sheathing & carrying on since the grab was cancelled. For the 2nd, yeah it was a phial explosion.

I didn't even know it was possible to keep max charge all the time. I kept spamming three shots + 2 PS + Dragon piercer whenever possible, thinking that'd be my best DPS. Never realized the option for charging your shot was there for a reason, let alone wirebug skills. Finally a reason to go back to MHR
