My favorite Jim Carrey roles are the ones where he's being true. Not so much of the rubber-faced foolishness, but portraying a whole person with all the shiny bits and flaws. The Majestic. Truman. Eternal Sunshine. Man in the Moon. Seeing him create these pieces, watching him make something uniquely his own where he doesn't have to worry making the world happy, that's the juice.

It's nice to see what someone can do when they have the money and free time required to discover ones self. The rest of us grind away at a job we hate for our whole lives, only to "retire" when our bodies have failed us and eek out what meaning we can still accomplish. Poor, poor Jim Carrey....

Omg. I saw the title and knew this was for me. This is the journey I’ve been taking the last few years, finding my way back to painting and feeling it is finally mine- after going to art school and working in design for almost 2 decades I would never say “I am an artist until about 2 yrs ago. And at some point it got to where I need color! I think it all the time. I have always dressed neutral for easy dressing, but now, I find myself dressing in bright colors and bold patterns. It’s like a food craving. I have even started wearing red and fuchsia or purplish lipsticks (I’ve always been a lip gloss or balm girl). But it feels so good! So happy for him. He’s finding HIS ❤way!

It’s funny I can see him in a lot of his work. They say artists often paint their own likeness without realizing. Very moving he is such a gem of a person ❤

Once he started realizing how silly Hollywood was he wanted to look deeper. I don’t blame him lol. As an artist I’m impressed with his ability to express himself in paint, something I definitely haven’t accomplished yet

Hey Jim, you mentioned you don’t know if Jesus is real. That is the biggest most important question anyone can seek an answer to. Why wouldn’t you read a book that has been around ~2000 years, and has been translated into every known language to man, and if allowed would have been on the New York Times best seller list perpetually every year…..???why not read the Bible?

I feel like a heart-to-heart with Robin Williams would have sounded much like this. We get so caught up in the performances that we forget there are real people in there, who are often much different than the characters they portray. And Jim Carrey is just gifted by God. You can't learn this. You're just born with it.
