This genius will never be beaten. Such a sad loss all those years ago. Saw, Gary for the last time at High Voltage festival the year before he passed. It was heartbreaking to see him not looking or sounding ( vocally ) his usual self, but, it was the best performance he ever gave guitar wise. My jaw was on the floor, and I’d seen Gary many times. That proved it was in his bones! Incredible talent and genius. Bless him 💞 x

His Blues Alive live album from 93 is absolutely astounding from beginning to end. The guitar playing is exceptional and the band is killer! Definitely one of my favourite albums.

I remember I was working on a construction site when this came on the radio, hearing it for the first time it stopped me in my tracks. I was 17 then and have loved it since. This must have been '92

He's played countless beautiful melodies and anazing solos on over 20 albums at this point. Even more unknown is his rhythm guitar intricacies, he's constantly switching things up and rarely ever sticks to traditional power chord chugging. He's always arpeggiating chords like you'd normally hear for clean music but he's doing it with distortion and it still sounds good. But most impressive is that he is virtually flawless live. Maybe the best I've seen. I've know about Galneryus since the mid 2000's but haven't really tried listening to them before 2019 or 2020. Been a fan since.

I met Gary once doing a chauffering job in the noughties, Hove to Chelsea harbour hotel. He and his girlfriend had a couple of little bags and a Gary had a guitar case which he kept in the back with him. He was lovely, chatted freely, and I asked him if the guitar was because he was gigging that night? He said no, he just always has one with him, especially for writing in case the ideas start to flow. I never saw him play live but I very much cherish passing a little time with a gent and a guitar great ❤

how do I write this without giving JSmith praise.. He nails everything .. not sure he ever plays a bad note.. and I have learned a lot of stuff from him.. and he is X1000 better than I .. but he has never moved me.. so as much as I appreciate him. I dont really get much from him... some players players do it for me.. unfortunately Josh doesnt.. but I appreciate his skill and will steal whatever I can to sound 1/8 as good as him

I was doing a night shift at Gatwick. Went to M&S for food. He was in there , We came face to face. By my reaction he obviously knew I was a fan. He did a 180 and left the shop before I could say anything. A few weeks later he was dead. Always bothered me that he was not in a good place.
