I have my headphones on, listening with a high degree of attention. I know the words, so that's cheating a bit, I guess. I like hearing how folks interpret a song. That's really why I listen. These lyrics quite literally describe my family. It really hit home the first time I heard it... one of those songs Iistened to on repeat for a while. I definitely feel many of the lines! Maybe just about all of them. Takes a rare song to do that. The picking pattern is HARD to sing along with!!! The timing of some lines still aren't perfect, but not much is coming from my channel! 😂 not in pursuit of perfection, in most cases. Just want to keep learning and creating. When I was a kid, I knew this girl who was deaf. When I was a kid, sometimes people like her were institutionalized. Thankfully she was not. I would go to hang out with her and she knew it was time to listen to records. This was her favorite. Have not seen or thought about her in 40 years, but she taught me to love music. Her dad was the craziest drunk I ever knew (and from a life long punk rocker that is saying something)…I hope she is OK. Anyway- excellent add, and one that had to be here. Thanks for taking me deep into my memories.

Also, instead of "I can play the uku" I switched to "I can play the lele" because that's how my 2y/o niece used to say it 6months ago. I'm afraid she's growing too fast and probably says it right now, so I'm preserving it in song. 😁
