    Hi just confused about stereo qtr inch vs RCA for best sound. Ive only got guitar amps at the minute for sound and need to have one mic for my bodhran drum plugged into one channel with +48v switched on and the other channel will be vocal dynamic only (SM58) and acoustic guitar. would it be better to order a split ? As in stereo qtr inch/RCA to one qtr inch for the amp? What do you think? And also should they be TRS on both ends? Sorry so confused

  • @newcastlemusicstudios
    @newcastlemusicstudios16 күн бұрын

    @@mariashiel5301 i don't think there is much sound difference you will notice if the cables are newer. Depends on amplifier... Some guitar amps only take a TS mono cable used for guitar to conbery sound. Some acoustic amplifiers are more diverse and accept a range of cable tips from front to back. Are you using a mixer for this to connect to the amplifier or just the amplifier? I dont really ever use RCA cables anymore, those are mainly for 1979s-1980s audio equipment and old VCR's. So i would avoid using them if possible. Most mixers can accept a TS mono cable aka a patch cable or a TRS cable. I dont understand how you are using a condenser microphone with the 48V if you dont have it connect with and XLR. Or an XLR to a 1/4 inch??

Wasnt sure if it the channel or mic would be harmed on channel 2 when plugging in my XLR sm58 at the same time (which doesnt need phantom obv). I think it doesnt...

My Daw is Reaper so what can problem can you pls help.. I have tried everything even attaching normal TS cables but its still same bad tones

  • @newcastlemusicstudios
    @newcastlemusicstudiosАй бұрын

    Well, that is very strange. The ouputs n the back are probably a little stronger. I would just have used a regular ts guitar cable from your nux mg 30 to the audio interface. If it sounds muddly there is likely an issue with the audio interface. For trial and error. Try connecting youe guitar directly to the inst. Line input on the audio interface? Does that also sound muddy? Is the BUTTON FOR EXTRA GAIN PUSHED IN? MAYBE turn that button off and dial the gain up n down to listen for clarity. If your guitar sounds normal by itself through the headphone jack, there is too much gain coming from your pedal so turn that down. If it still sound muddy with just the guitar gain turned down through the headphone jack. Your headphone jack may have a loose soldering wire on the internal connector that is barely touching. This has happened to me with brand new speaker i have ordered. The soldering points of wire connections break off and barely touch. You can also bring your audio interface unit to a guitar center and ask them to test it. Also make sure when you are on your PC your other windows are shut check your task manager and see how much RAM and Processor power is being used to run your DAW. If it is too high ut may also interfere with the sound.

    The internal out of the box tones are pretty lo fi, you could juice up some of them with a good FX Pedal you run through an aux on the backside. However I only use it as. MIDI Controller because it has a large keyboard. But even as a Midi controller, it is not touch sensitive, lacks an arpeggiator and a few other things. It is basically a nice toy for practice until u can afford something better or a budget midi keyboard for those who dont care about a lack of bells n whistles. I still have mine and use it. It still works unlike 3 other midi keyboards which failed over time. Best of luck!!

However if you want to control the guitar EQ's with the marshall Amp and it has a line out, just start with the lowers GAIN or Volume Setting and slowly go up, so you don't damage the Maui 5 speaker.
