    NuCanoe Unlimited - ecofishingshop.com/products/nucanoe-unlimited-fishing-kayak. A really awesome platform to build out however you want. It tracks and paddles really well despite its large size. It is one of the most stable kayaks on the market.

    Fair point. However, there are multiple storage hatches that give you access to the inside of the hull where you can have storage bins as well. There are also multiple accessory tracks on the Blue Sky so that you can lock accessories down. In any kayak, tethers are always a good idea for any gear that you don't want attached directly to the kayak.

    We loaded this version down with a lot of accessories to show what they are capable of becoming over time. You can strip this one down quite a bit to make it more reasonable. But, you do get what you pay for in this case. This is a really unique kayak/skiff/boat that really stands apart and in its own category. It is a really fun vessel to cruise around in and fish from.

    Technology evolves faster than the sport sometimes. Many probably felt similar with the invention of down imaging and fish finders as well. However, there are some conversations happening in the angling world about whether or not there should be fishing tournaments that include or exclude things like LiveScope. It has become a bit of a polarizing topic. It can be a really useful tool to help you better learn a body of water as well.

    These three kayaks are doable with a paddle, although they are some of the bigger fishing kayaks on the market. The Hobie Pro Angler comes with a fin drive, the AutoPilot obviously comes with a motor, and the NuCanoe Unlimited comes as a bit more of a bare bones shell that is ready to be customized. There are some great options from each brand if you are looking to paddle only.

    You are right, they do not give these away. However, the build quality and materials set this inflatable boat apart from many of its competitors. We also understand that budgets are realistic barriers all of us have to manage. We are happy to see people get on the water in any way that works for them! We were blown away by how easy this was to assemble and how stable/durable and fast it was on the water. Thank you for watching!

    Not all kayaks are created equally. Much like cars, or fishing gear, sometimes you get what you pay for. The beauty of the NuCanoe Unlimited is you can build it out however you want and with whatever accessories or homemade motor setups you'd like. However, the hull, accessory tracks, seat, stability combined with maneuverability and durability set the NuCanoe Unlimited apart from many.

    Isn't this true of any motor whether it is on a kayak or boat? We've actually found it a bit easier to navigate a catch around a kayak than a boat at times - especially when standing.

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop4 күн бұрын

    If you are looking for a paddle-only fishing kayak there are a ton of great options at lower price points. You'd want to look at fishing kayaks that have more of a V-shaped hull to knife through the water and cut down on resistance as well as a longer kayak because they track better.

    This isn't a bad route to go if you are just starting in the sport. Most of our customers are repeat customers. Many start small and build their way up to their "dream" kayak after they learn more about which features they like and don't like in a kayak, features they wish they had and the water type they fish on the most. Better to learn slowly than make a huge mistake on your first kayak.

    Lmao he went of 0 to trolling soeed in 60 seconds

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop17 күн бұрын

    The max speed of any kayak is going to top out around 5-6mph regardless of the motor you put on it. The only way to achieve a higher speed would be to get on plane, which would require a motor that likely weights too much anyways.

  • @richardlew7405
    @richardlew740517 күн бұрын

    @ecofishingshop I'd love to see a kayak going 6mph lol fastest I've seen with a trolling motor is 4. Mine goes around 3. So

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop6 күн бұрын

    3-4 is the optimal range either way. It prolongs battery life to dial your speeds back. 5-6 is if the conditions are optimal and based on hull shape. 5 to 5.5 is probably more realistic for absolute perfect conditions.

    How so? There are plenty of options out there that are paddle, pedal, or power. There is an option for everyone. When it pertains to fishing, having your hands free is a major advantage. You can deck out kayaks as much, or as little, as you want.

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop6 күн бұрын

    No need to apologize at all. It really does just come down to preference. Motors become a bit more of a necessity when fishing tournaments, although not all successful tournament anglers use motors. You can just cover a bit more ground. We've seen some tournament anglers actually ditch their motors in favor of exercise and stripping down their required gear. Completely up to the angler - which is what makes fishing kayaks so much fun and every setup slightly different. They are easily customized and modded.

    Since it is a peddle assist like an E-bike, do you have to register it like other motorized kayaks??

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop18 күн бұрын

    This is really tough to say because every state is so different. Some states require you to register kayaks based on length regardless of whether they are motorized or not. This is something you'd have to check with your local laws on.

    Old Town 136 sportsman auto pilot all day over the hobie.

  • @megabassg5831
    @megabassg583120 күн бұрын

    That’s not true . Did you ever have a chance to try either one ? Old town is slower than PA , less stable and have terrible storage when you compare to hobie . Also options to install sonar transcduser are way better with hobie . From what I know people have a lot interference from AP trolling motor .

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop20 күн бұрын

    Both have benefits over the other. The Old Town AP's integrated motor is really seamless in its design. Because it is mid-hull, you get more control and less torque on your kayak hull in general. The custom-made short shaft is nice for space saving in your cockpit as well. You are right that you can get some interference, but that is typically if you try using the same battery. If you run a separate battery for your fish finder, you shouldn't see any interference. The Hobie PA is definitely bigger with more storage and has the benefit of coming with a really unique 360-degree fin drive that is surprisingly fast and efficient. However, you do need to add a motor if you want one. Both are really great options and considered two of the premiere fishing kayaks on the market. The real answer probably is you can't go wrong. You really have to boil it down to the water type and features you like most.

  • @ecofishingshop
    @ecofishingshop27 күн бұрын

    This is a pretty common reply to many of our videos. We have nothing against Jon Boats, but they are different. Boats, kayaks, and Jon Boats all have different pros and cons. Some anglers prefer a kayak and their ability to get to unique places, be paddle/pedal/power and their adaptability for different modes of transportation. Fishing from a kayak is an entirely different experience than a boat.

    We work with customers on just about any budget. This setup is a great deal when considering it has a motor, Garmin 93sv, lithium battery and multiple accessories. However, you can strip this down way more. The NuCanoe Unlimited on its own is $1,799. We often advise our customers to start out a bit more "bare bones" and build up the kayak over time as you learn how you like to fish and what accessories you actually need.
