  Yeah, Mustang is a war criminal, and so are the state alchemist, collective punishment, and mass blitz killing of people with intent is considered a genocide which is a war crime.

  Hayao Miyazaki makes the most beautiful stories. He finds the simplicity in life and masters each detail in love. I'd love to recommend Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service next. I'm sure you'll love them just as much. 🥰💗

  Well that was a baffling little discussion at the beginning. Like... I understand that he was following the orders of his fascist military dictatorship and THEY don't consider him a war criminal... but he's absolutely a war criminal by OUR standards. He a) participated in collective punishment, b) deliberately attacked civilian populations (by burning them all to death) and c) participated in an explicit, intentional genocide. There's really no ambiguity there.

  Well idk if someone has commented on it before but Nicholas Flamel was a real alchemist, and this anime is based on real alchemy too, i mean, the writter is using alchemy real content for the books, some laws, the symbols, the things ed and al study and read, the fact they used to writte the knowledge encoded, etc.. It's really an amazing experience for people who enjoys this topic. I have a book about real alchemy stuff, and they are very accurate in a lot of things.

  Ed and Al's voice actors are the best part of the dub for me, but I guess everyone can have their opinions. Ed in particular does a great job. Maybe you guys will see it as it goes on. Also, Vinland Saga was animated in 2019, vs FMA Brotherhood in 2009 so you should still be impressed with the scenery. Reason why they didn't use Dr. Marco's stone to heal themselves is because they didn't want to use the stone he was using to help that Town. Dr. Marco himself says it's incomplete and he doesn't know when it'll run out so they didn't want to break it. They wanted to find a way to make their own stone and get their body's back themselves.

  Roy uses lethal force on civilians. If a soldier points a machine gun at a crowd he is a war criminal. Roy is definitely a war criminal. It's just that his side won and doesn't care about rules of engagement.

  me thinks you need to open a dictionary b/c I don't think you know what 'heretic' or 'heresy' is, given you thought calling it 'heretic's alchemy' meant it was, fake. That's not what that means. It means beliefs/opinions that go in opposition to those of the church. Which is how Scar views alchemy, in opposition of his religious beliefs.

  1:15 Whether Mustang is seen as a war criminal or a war hero depends on your POV... If you're an Ishvalan, you would undoubtedly view Mustang as a war criminal. However, if you're from Amestris, you would perceive Mustang as a war hero. In a war between two countries, both sides view each other as enemies, and someone has to take Mustang's position, becoming a war machine and butcher to attack the enemy. To assess whether Mustang is a war criminal or hero , we should examine whether his targets are innocent civilians or hostile soldiers.
