  • @jackshardware

    The 5800x3d is the better gaming cpu. Paired with a7800xt at 1440p you probably won't notice any difference, so I would go with whatever is cheaper. Even a 5800x would probably be more than enough.

    Hi there, I’m from Portugal. I’m completely new to this. I bought a ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 case with I9 14900K CPU and a ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 FORMULA motherboard. • @jackshardware

    I don't think there is anything you can do. The way the tubes stick out of the cpu block will interfere with the m.2 heat sink. I think you need an aio where the tubes exit the cpu block facing the ram. Without having that specific motherboard I am not 100% sure.

    Upgrading to a 5900x new wouldn't be worth it. It would be worth it to upgrade to a used 5700x or 5800x and sell your 5600g. They are more powerful, and the extra cores will help smooth out gameplay in cpu demanding titles. Down the road if you want to upgrade to a mid range 1440p card, you will not need to upgrade your cpu.

    Honestly not bad for emulation or a cheap workstation for 1080p video editing/in-depth photography work. The instruction set on video game emulators (like PCSX2) work really well with Xeons, because most of the game is rendered on the processor, while the GPU is basically tasked with streaming it (So depending on resolution, the CPU is always going to be the bottleneck - an RX550 4GB is capable of 1440p/4K PS2) A healthy dose of cores + clock speed helps, as much of emu works more like production software rather than traditional game engines.

  • @jackshardware
    @jackshardwareАй бұрын

    That is a good point. I never thought of testing with emulators. I'll have to give it a try. I tested it in cinebench, and its scores were not that great, but it would be sufficient for a budget video/ photo editing pc.
