Mini-wheels need low end torque. That means they should keep turning once you apply enough pressure to work your clay. If they're cheap they'll slow down or stop, and soon you'll burn out the motor. She's right, they're a fun thing but don't waste your money like you're on a cheap date. 😅

How long a hold do you use on glaze fire?
@3_Cats_Pottery17 күн бұрын
I use Spectrum 1511 Black as the base (it's cheaper than Amaco Obsidian), then use 2 coats of sponge Running Hot Chowder, then whatever glaze I want on top. or not. RHC does coolness with 1511.

Firebrick Red and Black ❤
@JessicaPutnamPhillips20 күн бұрын
I agree! Firebrick would be a great red option and staying with Amaco glazes would pair nicely with Obsidian celadon!

hi jessica. i have seen videos where people load their kiln with their pieces touching the sides of the kiln. i have never done it thinking it wasn’t safe for the pieces or healthy for the kiln walls. what do you do? am i on the correct thought path?
@JessicaPutnamPhillips20 күн бұрын
I try not to let my greenware touch the walls of the kiln. It’s just not a good habit to have and can lead to cracking your pieces due to the pieces expanding while firing.

I love green and pink. However, blue, green and pink is even better. 8:47 You really need to try textured turquoise on the bottom half of a piece and kimchi on top with little to no overlap. Rainforest in place of Tex turquoise is also interesting.

Hi Jessica, I have several questions, when applying the transfer to the clay you should put glitter enamel or slip around it and then bake it again with glitter.

I have no idea what the frozen pond technique is so I am just looking at a stunning bowl. I realize that when you have a plan and it doesn't work out that sometimes that all you see is failure. But no, that is a beautiful bowl. ♥️

Beautiful test bowl. I often make second tests using the accent colors as main colors, and the main ones as accent … It gives an idea of how the different colors behave in the same conditions. And it can make a nice set! Have a nice day 😊

Use ust 2 coats of obsidian. If you are sponge painting the other two colors you may need three dots as the sponge tends to be more uneven. If brushing use two coats of each

I did do 3 coats of the obsidian and I think that is one of the reasons why it didn’t turn out. I’m going to do another today with only 2 coats of the obsidian.☺️
