Pottery Studio Vlog. Episode 3: Extruderpalooza, The Ceramic Shop and my Studio Commute.

Ойын-сауық

Welcome to week 3 of the Pottery Studio Vlog!
I did a lot of extruding this week! I am loving the Steel Pottery extruder and even the expansion die set is easy to work with.
I hope you enjoy my studio commute it really is a joy to walk to work every morning.
If you have not tried using lusters yet I encourage you to do so. If you don’t know where to start check out my classes on luster. They are easy to follow and I cover everything from safety, luster application and firing.
As you may have noticed I have lots of projects in the works. lol. I’ll share the progress in the camper rehab and kick wheel as they happen.
Paper clay is a great material to repair broken pottery or for making larger things that you don’t want to be too heavy. I’ll be doing a whole series of classes with paper clay in August on ClayShare!
I didn’t have time to share the unboxing of the Osmo Pocket 3 but I have used it a few times and love it. If there is enough interest I’ll do a little video about the cameras I use in a future vlog.
The Udu drums were so fun. Check out my ClayShare class to learn how to make your own.
The Ceramic Shop was a treat! They have a HUGE retail store and lots of inventory for online sales. Check out the tour of their store I did recently.
I am still planning on doing an ask me anything vlog so send me your questions and I’ll answer them there!
For more great pottery videos, full length step by step classes, workshops and more go to ClayShare.com or download the ClayShare app.

They were so fun to use. I have many of them in my studio but not the large ones. They have the most unique designs!

When you use the MOP can the mug still be washed in the dishwasher? I know the gold luster can't be, am wondering about these. It is a great idea for fixing an "eh" piece.

The problem with the dishwasher is that the detergent is so harsh it can etch the luster over time. So yes you can put MOP pieces in the dishwasher and I do but just know they may lose some of their luster over time.

Is mother of pearl food safe? I though it has lead

It depends. I use Mayco Mother of Pearl which is food safe but some companies MOP may not be. Always read the label or check with the manufacture to be safe.☺️
