The bat costume was great. I didn't really get the point of the action. Obviously they had fun creating tricks with new stop action film technology. I enjoyed seeing the films of women in period dress . It is really wild that this film is 117 years old.

I remember seeing these newsreels at the drive-in theatre with my mom and dad. My dad smoking Pall Mall's and farting. My mom fanning the smoke and fumes. No mosquitos in our car. Ahh, the happy memories of life in the U.S. during the 1950's.

I’m so old I remember when newsreels were played at theaters before movies. They also used to play a cartoon. Now, as if you don’t pay enough for your ticket, they play commercials!

My dad went to this fair when he was a kid. I still have the free telegram he sent to his folks from the Midway. He would have loved to have seen this. I imagine him watching the race cars. ❤️

He also nearly started WW3 by putting nuke missiles on the Turkey USSR border resulting in the Soviets retaliating by putting missiles on Cuba, of course that hardly gets mentioned & the Russians get accused as the aggressors.
