That measurement business is just a bunch of bullshit they use to negotiate you down. Give the fuggers a price and stand on it. They can take it or leave it. There are not that many people that know how to do the work. You have much more control than you realize. They are vultures and need to be treated as such. You really don't need them in the marine industry. There is plenty of work without working too cheap or jumping through their silly as whoops like a circus pony !

Just started my journey with fiberglass! I want to use it to modify a small shower pan for van build. Thsnks for covering some of the things i need to know. Things went beyond my knowledge when you were mixing the nonskid, but i gained! I will be shortening the pre-existing pan, and i need to add an elevated “pedestal “ for a cassette commode. A question i have is how to prep the plastic of the pan to accept the fiberglass? Is a rough sand all i need?

The Yamaha hull structure requires protection from paint or some coating in order for it not to delaminate . There are many benefits to doing this type of coating over paint. Durability is the main reason, it's slick so it makes it 10 x easier to slide off a stand onto and off of a trailer, it's easy to repair, and it looks great/easy to keep clean. Still not recommended to beach, but beaching is much less destructive than paint.

excellent content very well explained . I was wondering during the glass repair when building back the laminate do you start with the smallest piece of matt and get progressively bigger with each layer or the opposite way around largest to smallest it seems to be a bit of a controversy which is the best way for some reason. Also did you use chopped strand for the repair and what ounce weight would be a good choice for a repair like this. what gun and tip size do you find works the best for you spraying gel . Looking forward to more videos

Subscribe to the channel. I have 2 videos dropping Christmas night or eve.. depending on how long editing takes. On the repair, it depends on the damage, personally I like to start large, and deeper sections add a couple small layers and sandwich with a large sheet over. Vinylester resin. 1.5oz chop strand mat, I spray gel with a 1.4 tip and my 3m performance gun. You don’t need a $800 gun set up unless you spray every day like me, my best spray jobs have been with the purple harbor freight gun. Reduce gel with MEK substitute
