The faceplate marked "25 watts" refers to the current draw from the wall socket. Audio power to the speaker is less than 2 watts. The two-pickup amp-in-case version was more similsr to a Fender Champ and put out 4 to 5 watts. The low-power amp in this unit has an unsafe design that can put 120 volts of house current onto the strings and metal parts of the guitar. Ideally, it should have an isolation transformer added in line with the power cord, or at the very least install a polarized plug on it so that it can only plug into the wall the "right" way (neutral line to the chassis); although that would be helpful only if the wall outlet is correctly wired.....

Apparently I own an S6 entourage rustic owned by a baseball player that played for Stl cardinals. I recently installed LR Baggs Anthem on it because I wanted the mic to pick up the true sound of the guitar. It sounds incredible and it goes on and on and on. It’s probably over 15 years now(maybe more).

Some years ago,I was considering a Seagull Jumbo acoustic.Luckily during my research I found a factory tour video of Seagull and was horrified to see the necks of guitars being epoxied in place.This is an unacceptable practice for any manufacturer of guitars as in time when a neck reset is required,it will not be possible.So on that basis I decided to avoid Seagull guitars as if they were a source of Covid..................................................

From a mechanical standpoint, it would be more difficult to move a smaller soundboard of the same thickness. It’s more likely to be a matter of volume than vibration for different sound levels.

1. Have the guitars ready and available to handle if a guitar discussion and comparison is about to happen. 2. ANY kind of music can be played on any kind of guitar, dread/folk/parlor/jumbo, it does not matter! Nice video overall! Wahi' Valleys

Great Roadshow. Watched the whole video, it was really educational. Curious to know, which all solid wood model do you suggest for unplugged and plugged in home studio recordings? Hard to check out the guitars here in Delhi since they aren't readily available to test particularly the higher end Seagull models.

My buddy has one that I recapped and replaced the speaker in. He stoled it from our old drummer cause everytime we went over to his house his kids would be beating the shit out of it, beating each other with it, sleigh riding off the hill on it,😣. We'd take turns borrowing it to try to keep it away from them until finally my buddy, our singer, just never brought it back. It was finally safe👌 After awhile it started getting a lot of hum and loosing volume so I replaced all the caps, then the original speaker blew so I replaced that with a 6 inch celestion alnico which worked great for that amp. These things actually sound pretty cool if you know how to play to their strengths and avoid their weaknesses.
@goodun297418 күн бұрын
I hope you added an isolation transformer online with the power cord; that would make it much safer. At the very least, a replacement *polarized* power plug would be a good idea, but that doesn't work if you happen to plug into a wall outlet that is wired backwards. Adding a grounded cord would likely make it hum a lot.....

Very interesting .Well I went to a pawn shop and found an s6 .Not sure what year it is .Looks like it's several years old . I bought it within 10 minutes of tuning and playing . Before going to the pawn shop I played and tuned 10 guitars at the guitar center . I played all the big names within 800 dollar price range .I didn't like anything .I gave up.I found a jem at the pawn shop .I checked the serial number.Its unknown .Have no idea what year it is .Whoever had this guitar played the hell out of it .Deep pick grooves.This guitar is the best I have played .Yes the older it is the more resonance you will receive .I didn't know too much about cedar but am well aware of it now !! Heads up .S6

I have a 2006 Seagull MJ M6 CW that I was told was a solid cedar top with a solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides with the inside being cherry. It's a well built guitar but even with new strings it has always sounded a little muted to me. I rarely play it over one of my five other choices. I actually prefer my Ovation acoustic electric over my others but for no other reason than that I' lazy and don't mind a string change on the Ovation when needed because no pegs to pull out! Anyway, no denying Seagulls are built well but I think I'd like a different wood for brighter sound over the one I traded for years back. I've had this one since 2008 so it isn't like I intend to get rid of it but honestly it's good sounding but not great sounding. Mine has a very flat neck on the back side and it seems wide as a neck on a guitar goes and that took me years to adjust to to be honest but it is nicer for finger style playing over my others.
