    your doing a great job! Really informative videos. thank you! Stay safe out on the road my friend. Also for that five gallon water jug you were talking about where did you get the pump for it? thats actually a really smart idea. never even thought of that. Might have to use that idea when i go back OTR.

    I don’t even have my CDL permit. I’m considering trucking. I called a Swift recruiter. Was considering going through them to get my CDL license and some experience. Thoughts? Does Crete put us through school?

    I just left CFI as sense bought out I experienced 2nd fiddle to Heartland. Lots of layover and too much time to get loads delivered limiting miles. Layover pay changed as well and constant harassment over fuel consumption. No optimized idle or APU’s. Dispatch always missing people out and leaving. Shop not open on weekends. Staff try to assist but way overwhelmed. Always told not to call and to send over Omnitrac system. Pay is weak.

    I'm also a Crete driver, been here a little over a year. Incase noone told you ( because they forgot to tell me) you will need to get a new physical in the first 3 months to add your CPAP to your medical card. Don't get a surprise out of service from them. Sometime in the next few weeks contact your asset manager and get that done. Yes Crete will pay for it.

    So if you have an updated medical card they make you take another physical?? 🤔

  • @beebodrives
    @beebodrives2 ай бұрын

    Yes, their medical exceeds DOT standards, so you’ll need to go through the company’s program for your initial new-hire qualification. Sounds a bit overwhelming at first, and I understand the tendency to be distrustful with so many shady companies out there, but it is actually very driver-health focused. I was cautious, and a bit hesitant, but I never felt like they were looking for a “gotcha”, but rather making sure I had every resource to be healthy and safe. I just completed my re-cert yesterday and it was the same way but not as complex - quick process.

    You left one little thing out. After this extensive physical how do you get home from their terminal if you are rejected and not hired for failing something. You are stuck in Lincoln? I guess the same question over any reason to not hire , how do you get home.

  • @beebodrives
    @beebodrives2 ай бұрын

    Just like with any travel, I suppose the answer to that would vary depending on the individual’s circumstances: distance from home, what they could afford, etc. Walk/bike/public transport/phone a friend, if local. Otherwise, rent a car, get a bus or plane ticket. Hitchhiking is not recommended these days though, LOL.

    I drive for Crete as well and yes, absolutely correct about the blind spot on the mirrors, They are ridiculous. Along with the side box issue on the passenger side. But anyway for a company that claims Being debt free, you would think they could give us a little bit more driver comforts. Ie. . . window blind side.

    Cfi ended my trucking career by putting 2 lies on my dak report. The parent company of cfi needs to crack down and fire the president of cfi for putting lies on people dak reports. They put on my dak report that I abandoned a truck 2 times after I got Covid 3 times. I offered to return the semi truck to the Joplin,Missouri terminal and they wouldn’t let me drive it. I went to 1 day of orientation as a rehire after that. They sent me home. The president of cfi is refusing to remove these lies off my dak report and he is refusing to talk to me about it. He knows that he is in the wrong for doing it. I would never recommend cfi to anyone. But I do tell them about what they did to me. The parent company of cfi needs to clean house. I have lost everything.

    If you even have a cold (ie your nose is clogged), the Resmed airtouch F20 full face mask works reasonably well with facial hair. It does have the hose coming out of the front rather than from the top so it's a little more annoying but it wasn't really a problem for me. I used a nasal pillow mask for years but couldn't keep the mouth leaking under control so have been using the Airtouch mask for about 8 months.
