    I actually have a Kumako personally, though not the dividing line 1/4 scale doll T_T.... Using the review as reference, I personally find Kumako slightly more aesthetically pleasing (I think his body is sculpted cuter, especially the hands), but the Dividing Line 1/4 scale doll is probably better otherwise. The main reasons being that it's cheaper and poses a lot better (I adore Cristo, but he's a chore to pose and has single jointed knees XD). The only real complaint about the sculpting I have is just that I think the folds on the hands kinda make the doll's hands less cute compared to other Kumako style dolls.... That and resin dust traces and imperfect sanding, but it's clearly really good for the price! I'm surprised the doll didn't cost more than it actually does, it's great! If I go for any Kumako competitors, it's on the list, and will definitely go with a "monster boy/girl" theme, considering I intended to give my 1/4 Kumako family a vampire theme (my one baby Kumako is not planned to be a vampy as of this writing)!

    This video made me curious about Arcdoll as a company, honestly! Seeing the dragon girl doll made me curious because of how cute she is but I can't find anything online and my only real lead is that the MIGHT have rebranded as Spouting Dragon, but I'm not certain....

  • @creepy-dolls
    @creepy-dolls3 ай бұрын

    Oh wow, I hadn't considered that but the styles are remarkably similar! Unfortunately I'm pretty clueless about them, since I discovered them right before they closed up shop and deleted everything. 😭I hadn't considered that they might rebrand, I thought they were just done

    @@creepy-dolls Ngl, it might be the same sculptor for both. I didn't even know they went under, but it does explain why I didn't see anything about that dragon girl! Maybe I can find something on the second hand market but IDK.... But Arcdoll rebrand or no, the Spouting Dragon Zilu is still adorable! She may end up stealing my wallet lol! P.S. I found Gokidoll after stumbling on their insta! The Miimy head is adorably sweet and so are their other heads!

    Unfortunately this one is harder to answer 😅 There are a lot of different companies that make anime heads like this. I'd suggest browsing on the website Janesdolland or other BJD websites for one you like.

    Omg seeing the size of a cotton swab compared to the head made me realise how tiny it actually is. That’s impressive work. Using Procreate to decide on a look is such a good idea. I’ll try that. I just got my first Dollfie head and straight up painted the actual head without EVER practicing on paper/digitally cause I’m insane 😂 Ended up removing the whole face up cause obviously that first attempt didn’t look too good. I’ve heard using little paper cups or tennis balls is also a good way to practice getting used to the curved surface of a doll head. Did you have any artistic experience/education before getting into dolls? How many attempts did it take you until you were satisfied with your work? Also can you erase the Derwent pencils with an actual eraser or do you need water to remove it? Sorry if that’s too many questions! I’m just super excited to get into this hobby and also curious.
