Some people say a man is made outta mud A poor man's made outta muscle and blood Muscle and blood and skin and bones A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine I loaded 16 tons of number nine coal And the straw boss said, "Well, a-bless my soul" You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain Fightin' and trouble are my middle name I was raised in the canebrake by an ol' mama lion Can't no high toned woman make me walk the line You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store If you see me comin', better step aside A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died One fist of iron, the other of steel If the right one don't get you Then the left one will You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store

B.J. Thomas🎤📻🎺 Raindrops are falling on my head And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nothing seems to fit Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling So I just did me some talking to the sun And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Sleeping on the job Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling But there's one thing I know The blues they send to meet me Won't defeat me, it won't be long Till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining Because I'm free Nothing's worrying me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining Because I'm free Nothing's worrying me

As a Texan, O can't listen to this song without weeping. There was a time when a man would stand, fight, and if necessary, die for what he believed in. I pray that there are still people in this country that used to be called "AMERICANS". I jope they're still out there somewhere...

The other side of this is an uncomfortable one. Santa Anna was following the conventions of war, and Travis was not. Sieges in those days were terribly bloody fights. It was customary to give the defenders of a fortress the opportunity to withdraw, because it would coat the attackers dearly to take it. For this reason the defenders would often be cruelly slaughtered when the fortress finally fell, as happened here. Same with the Irish at Drogheda. Cromwell (and I’m no fan of him) gave the Irish the opportunity to surrender and withdraw. They refused and were slaughtered when the English took the town. War is an ugly business, and atrocities occur. When the one side gambles and breaks the rules, they have only themselves to thank if the victors get a little overly exuberant.

Las gotas de lluvia caen sobre mi cabeza Raindrops are falling on my head Y como el tipo cuyos pies son demasiado grandes para su cama. And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nada parece encajar Nothing seems to fit Esas gotas de lluvia caen sobre mi cabeza, siguen cayendo Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling Así que acabo de hablar un poco con el sol. So I just did me some talking to the sun Y dije que no me gustaba la forma en que hacía las cosas. And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Dormir en el trabajo Sleeping on the job Esas gotas de lluvia caen sobre mi cabeza, siguen cayendo Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling Pero hay una cosa que sé But there's one thing I know Los blues que envían a mi encuentro. The blues they send to meet me No me vencerás, no pasará mucho tiempo. Won't defeat me, it won't be long Hasta que la felicidad se acerque a saludarme Till happiness steps up to greet me Las gotas de lluvia siguen cayendo sobre mi cabeza Raindrops keep falling on my head Pero eso no significa que mis ojos pronto se pondrán rojos. But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red llorar no es para mi Crying's not for me Porque nunca voy a detener la lluvia quejándome 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining porque soy libre Because I'm free Nada me preocupa Nothing's worrying me No pasará mucho tiempo hasta que la felicidad se acerque a saludarme. It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Las gotas de lluvia siguen cayendo sobre mi cabeza Raindrops keep falling on my head Pero eso no significa que mis ojos pronto se pondrán rojos. My favorite westerns are Rio Bravo and High Noon. In High Noon, the Marshall wants help and can’t get it. In Rio Bravo, the Marshal doesn’t want help from the town. Along with Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson, Walter Brennan also had some hit records, and I know John Wayne made a record where he spoke. Check out Mary Lou by the Creative Force, Amazing!

Another of my favorite pieces… I can almost hear the fall of raindrops on the lake as you play this. Lake Erie is my most favorite place in all the world- so peaceful and serene. Someday I’d love to live there-right on the water’s edge. This song truly captures the essence of a quiet afternoon watching the rain softly touch the water-just beautiful. You’re an artist… but instead of a paintbrush you create with music❤
