Anette Askvik is a Norwegian artist, composer and producer with a unique ability to grab people at their core. The music is powerful and hypnotic, and it doesn’t leave you indifferent.
Growing up in Stavanger, Anette early found inspiration in the ocean and nature surrounding her.
On her debut album, Liberty, Anette worked with producer and pianist Øystein Sevåg, as well as renowned musicians like Audun Erlien, Rune Arnesen and Petter Wettre. Liberty has frequently been used to demonstrate good sound on hi-fi equipment all over Europe and USA.
On her second album Multiverse, Anette found inspiration in sounds from stars, moons and planets. These are recordings done by NASA, and can be heard in her songs.
Her album "With Every Cell" was released October 2023.

Thought this song is new, heard it in a High-End audio show last year in Taipei, loved it instantly, it was the most popular song at the show, many booths played it, unfortunately forgot to look it up afterwards, and just now heard it playing in a High-End audio show that is happening right now in other part of the world on KZread and I was like hey, gotta look it up so here I am :) Without doubt, top notch music and recording, something really special.

Just taken delivery of Anette's CDs bought direct from her website. Wow just wow. The recordings are incredible. Her beautiful detailed haunting vocals float over some beautiful arrangements with some very special musicians. Not available in the UK so you will have to order online direct..... But very much worth it. Liberty is such a classic track but delve a bit deeper and you will find more gems.

I feel that Sade would do a good cover of this song. The brooding,sombre flavour of this,especially with the string and saxophone arrangement is reminiscent of some of her work.
