Beautiful performance. I notice that he keeps his right hand quite high -- right over the rose -- much of the time.

I loved this piece from Biber ever since I discovered the composer. So glad to hear it transcribed for lute. Completely another atmosphere. Violin can be quite virtuosic and "showy" in this piece at times, which is nice of course but Lute makes it contemplative and way more intimate.

Back in the early Seventies, when I was still active in the Society for Creative Anachronism, I used to sing this as a duet with my girlfriend, who sang contralto -- and took the lower part. I'm a little shocked that I can still sing it in the same key as Ms. Stoppelelenburg uses here!

No comments? I think everyone is speechless. Beautiful playing, as ever, from Nigel. And Bittner wrote some of the best 11c music. What's not to like? Nicely edited video too.
