Charles Mouton, Pieces in c minor
Performance by Nigel North, Baroque lute, on 20 March 2016 as part of a concert entitled "ca. 1685," at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake IL, USA. The suite is taken from the première livre of Mouton's 1699 collection, Pièces de luth sur differents modes:

I really feel like Nigel north is the best Lutenist in the world. His tone and the feeling he puts into the music is incredible.

Beautiful performance. I notice that he keeps his right hand quite high -- right over the rose -- much of the time.

Quelle merveille interprétation grandiose bravo.MOUTON, célèbre luthiste français également compositeur de luth il serait originaire de Rouen, aurait étudier auprès de DENIS GAUTHIER et aurait travaillé en début de carrière à la cour des ducs de Savoie à Turin, il enseigne à Paris en 1660, le luth. Il publie vers 1679/80 deux livres de pièces de luth. On trouve aussi d'autres pièces éparses dans divers manuscrits pour un total de plus de120. Sublime.
