This animal has quickly become one my favorites, they are so fascinating and well adapted to survive the depths! I cant believe those filaments, so beautiful and really practical, what a beast! Ive always wondered about the lure and how it attracts prey. Why would something edible be attracted to light? Is it eating other bioluminescent creatures that see the lure and want to mate or eat it?

To this day I never understood why, backup power generators were positioned so close to the coastline. I get the whole cooling factor being able to use seawater to cool them, but why not have the generators, a little higher level, not in a concrete holding pond. Okay you need pumps to transport that water up a grade, and those too could be compromised... But, it still just sucks the backup was the first thing to go, what with being inundated with water right at the start of the surge!

I often laughed at conspiracy theorists who tried to convince me/ scare me into not taking Covid-19 vaccines. I never had any health problems, ever. Absolutely nothing for 41 years of my life. In July of 2023 I almost died of Blood Clots in my lungs and leg. I’m not getting any better and every day since I “ exist “ tormented by pain and difficulty in completing my daily tasks. I just have a hard time believing in coincidences and I started to suspect ether Covid or Covid vaccines did this to me.

The wildest part about the Aztecs is that they really were just as horrifyingly violent as the invading Spanish conquistadors said they were. Usually the invading force would greatly exaggerate how violent their enemy was to justify their own violence against them, hence why modern historians were so critical of the idea of the Tzompantli... until it was actually found.

Evolution is based on not just genes but environmental factors diet and diversity of the gene pool for example people in the Great depression are more likely to have cancer three generations later people in mining towns I have a 90 percent cancer rate because of agent Orange the government putting it and pesticides on crops heavy metal ore mining these are all factors that affect your DNA and your offspring these fossils are so diverse they are merely Cliff notes

Thanks for bringing attention to this topic that is so vastly overlooked. As you mentioned the ecological functions of grasslands are incredible. Not only the carbon sequestration but the water holding capacity, food supply for migrating birds and monarchs, and nectar for insects such as the 3,600 species of bees which were native to NA

Here are my symptoms; until 2021 I was in the best shape and form of my life. Something changed at the end of that year. I got vaccines in April and later got covid itself. Can’t tell what affected but later that year when I was exercising or getting in a hot car next summer I was getting extreme tingling sensations in my hands and feet. Then every year once or twice I had this episode where I felt like I was having some sort of heart attack but all the blood work and screening were perfect. In 2023 I started feeling more and more fatigue and exhaustion after exercise. I think it is some sort of neurological or immune response, some sort of flare up. I am rooting for scientists and researches for finding a solution. In light of rapid improvement in AI, I am hopeful. Stay strong, continue to move, get some sunshine, eat clean and most importantly prioritize sleep.

I bet it would be possible to selectively breed for them to still have those claws as adults. Over time, make the claws larger. Then, try and breed them to have a tail. Then, give them a beak shape that allows them to hunt with it well. Finally, dinosaur.

we should not make robots look human because they would just look creepy. can't we just have a screen face with two dots for eyes and a line for a mouth or something. If you're gonna build them at least make them look approachable.

In my freshman year of college I took geology courses and one of my papers was about post-perovskite. It was all fairly new data and research and I hated it because it was not the science I was specifically drawn to, but now I have grown to appreciate it, and have never forgotten what I learned from long nights of reading on the new discovery.

Human features: walking upright, bold body, nose, white eyes, big brains. So, hominoids emerged as a new family when all these qualities emerged together!!!!. This means that primates are no ancestors of humans!!!!! THE IMAGE OF LUCY WITH WHITE EYES IS FAKE.
