    10 years in as a part time lawn guy and trying to get my stripes right still drives me mad. You discover little tips and tricks over time, like 1. Keep your eyes up and ahead, not angles down towards the grass. It keeps you smooth and straight 2. When making your first pass, aim for something in the distance straight ahead, like a tree, shrub, or other landmark. Specifically a landmark that is not in the lawn. 3. As you make passes through the area, avoid unnecessary circle around trees or other obstacles. I’ve found that coming out of that circle can really put a kink in my line. I usually do a half circle around trees on one pass, and keep the line straight on the next pass. Clean up with trimmer. The biggest problem I have is making sure I keep my wheels in the right spot. I’m convinced I’ll never get the hang of it.

    @@americandream_89 No sir, I think they are definitely worth trying. Most people probably couldn't tell a difference in the QOC between the two. The Ballard blades seem to be made of a softer steel than the Deere OEM, but I'm not certain of this. Either blade produces excellent results. The 920 has a 23.5 Kawi, the owner may notice more of a power drag with the Ballard Hi-Rise due to the extremely high sail.

  • @americandream_89
    @americandream_897 күн бұрын

    The main reason prefer the hustler is ride quality and they offer a 66" cut. With that out of the way both are great cutting machines but totally different ideas on execution. Hustler is a heavy machine vs Exmark. Hustler to me seems do do better in dry cuts but the new adapt system gives exmark a nice versatile cut in any grass. You can mower faster by far with hustler and not jar your teeth out. I truly never try and steer people to a product and both companies make a great mower. I would say as Ive said before after you use a hyperdrive everything else in some aspect goes backwards. Literally nothing on the market offers anything better from hydraulic power, cut and smooth driving. If you get a chance demo one id love to hear your thoughts.

Same issues, slowed the blade, engine working harder, fuel use went up and discharge was actually less, especially in high grass. If just taking off. 1/2 “, does a great job. Absolutely stellar if double cut. However, planning to put the regular high lifts back on. Not seeing any real benefit- equal results at best.

Just for giggles, going to try 2 sets of high lift to see what it does. I’ll let you know what it does. Curious- what is the max rpm yours runs at? Would like to see apples to apples rpm. You have much thicker and taller grass- so the HP difference should be minimal on my thinner grass.

    Who gives a rats *ass if its Osha Certified (if you need the bar only halfway down) when the trees are two low, if I want to run with that bar (all the way down) its Osha Certified to me because they can go *uck themselves! Love these mowers though, sure mows acreage fast, to tell the truth a 12 pack and 4 hours on a 3 hour yard...keeps me away from the wife's honey dew list lmao!😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    I just purchased one for my son and I was wondering if that sputtering is doing any damage to the engine?

    Any time a motor isn’t able to run optimally it’s going to be worse for the motor. With that said my son so rides his weekly and zero issues yet.
