Love all the noisy cars up at altitude. Really improves ones chances of seeing wildlife and ya know... getting away from it all. 👎👎👎👎

Well, they are less noisy than the trains that used to run through here, so there's that. To each their own. Thanks for the view and interaction!

Did you experience worn front brake pads when you were having the death wobble issue? I have a persistent wobble but not as bad as the death wobble, but it seems as though my front brakes are being applied. At times it hard to get my Jeep moving out of first gear due to the amount of force being applied by the brakes.

No unusual brake pad wear in this instance of DW, nor the others that happened after this :-). We upgraded some steering components and that fixed the issue for a while. We're out in Colorado and take the Jeep on some fairly demanding terrain, and that's wearing down stuff a bit faster than I was expecting, even the upgraded stuff. If you're seeing that and feeling resistance, I'd get an IR temp gauge and see if one brake is noticeably hot compared to the others. That may lead to a bad caliper, seized slide pin, or a variety of other possible reasons. Best of luck tracking it down, it's a bugger for sure!

Think I'd be okay in my LJ lifted 4" on 33's? No lockers, just rear LSD

You might be ok. I did this with stock 32's and 3.5 lift before and struggled, but made it up after some well placed rocks. There's a good winch point in front of this too. This obstacle is 100% optional.

@@teamlaxson6206 Thanks for the reply! I do have a winch, a transmission/oil pan skid, and side rock sliders, so it sounds do-able

You should have went to the top. Turn around is so sketchy. There's a tree to hug in case you tip.

2018.01.27: Replaced the tie rod with Synergy HD tie rod. After removing the stock on, there was a noticeable bend to it. Test driving appears to be better. I think this was the likely culprit. I need to do an alignment yet, but have new ball joints to install yet. I'll get this aligned once they're installed.

where exactly is this area?

Dry Creek Recreation area near Montrose, CO. We stumbled on it while exploring; I knew it existed but didn't know anything else about it. After we visited we found a good resource that tells you more. This is a rock-crawling park, and has some pretty extreme trails that we didn't know about. www.visitmontrose.com/205/Rock-Crawling
