eXite Video Magazine

eXite Video Magazine is about Japanese cars. I love all types of cars, from Drift, Grip, Stanced (Shakotan), Bosozoku, and more. I have a preference in what Iike, but to each their own, and if you love cars, that's how it should be. Follow me as I find the REAL JDM around the Kyushu region.

So I’m no expert when it comes to cars but I have a 2012 Nissan cube and I have been having stalling issues. I took it to a shop and they couldn’t figure out what was going on. I took it to Nissan and they replaced the spark plugs, and some kind of stabilization rod, but I told them what was happening and they said because they couldn’t re-create it they’re not sure what it is and I looked up my symptoms and it says throttlebody, so should I take it back to them and say just go ahead and replace it? Or should I try to clean it?

Enjoyed the early days being 17 and broke. Really had to buy parts you absolutely needed or waited for a deal to pop up to save cash on expensive parts. First 2 parts I bought came from the junkyard lol. First was a J30 diff for my s14 for $65. Went back the next weekend and pulled q45 calipers for $60 for the pair. Drove a few events with a stock suspension car until a set of bnib bc's popped up for $700 local. Now I'm 10 yr older with a little more cash and I'm buying aero, seats and suspension parts I dreamt of buying years ago. Just the excitement of affording them doesn't feel the same as it did lol

  • @eXiteVideoMagazine

That pretty much sums up my experience. I think in some ways dreaming of owning the part is funnier than actually owning the part.

Also, driving between the phases of build keeps it fresh. When it’s on jack stands forever… it kind of kills the fun. It becomes another burden.

Easily loved it more in the early days. Back when every new (or used but better) part was installed it felt like an accomplishment. The first thing I did on my car was a second hand alpine deck in my car, which it still has to this day, and it felt like a monumental turning point, no more tape deck!! Made drives so much better.

I've heard that as well. I'm not at that mileage yet, and hopefully will just be rebuilding and swapping an MR20DE before that happens. Best advice I have heard is do it when the engine is cold, or you will strip them out.

  • @eXiteVideoMagazine

Pull it off, then use heat and pliers to get the plastic piece off, then thread the metal. I’ll have a video coming out, but it’s down the pipe!
