Thank you so much for highlighting this series which I believe is a masterpiece in composition, lighting, texture, and of course black and white.

Interesting mini documentary done here. Stella Lansing is certainly a name I never heard before. From your information, Stella Lansing's story could've been an inspiration to an X-Files episode. Perhaps inspiration to some found footage sci-fi/horror films like 'Phoenix Forgotten', 'Devil's Pass' or 'Alien Abduction'. Great subject matter. While I was writing this comment, I learned that William Russell of Doctor Who just died. Although I had seen one or two episodes of the first doctor series, he seem a very talented and capable actor. Certainly a great lost to the world of entertainment.

Thank you for these recommendations. I must say that In No Great Hurry is one of my favourite documentaries ever. I’ve shown it to non-photographers and they loved it too. No documentary can show everything. As a portrait of the artist, I thought it was a triumph.

Is it storytelling if the whole shot is staged? They are aesthetically pleasing, but they are fake. They are not snapshots of a moment in time. I guess if it is a story, then it is fiction.

It makes me sick to hear youtubers saying; you need that camera, you need that gimbal, you need that lens drones and whatever… They are always focusing on gear and forgot to teach you how to focus on creativity! I always say that real filmmakers wouldn’t never starting by the gear because this is only a tool and depends on choices you make to tell you story

I'm sorry but Vivian Maier is really really more better. The picture you showed "new your city" with the 2 black girls, the white men, the american flag and the white line on the road who linked somehow the 2 worlds... This is something impossible to shoot. The message within this photograph is so strong and with many layers. The fact she choose to make the focus on the men and keep blurrerd the girls means a lot about her understanding of the society. And the faces of these girls... How fast your brain have to be to capture a shoot like this. Magic. There's nothing like that in masha pictures. I'm speaking only about masha photographs.
