  @@WeBlogAnyCar It looks like the color is purple, or it's the reflection of the sun on Madras Blue, but I doubt it. You should see the original color code inside the trunk below. But it was never marketed in purple, the original colors are: BEIGE WHITE BLUE GRAY BROWN BLACK RED GREEN

  In any case, if it is the work of a professionnal bodybuilder painter, it is very well done, as originally, if this is not the case obviously, to be confirmed. As I told you, the color code plate is located in the trunk. That said, nice color! I had never seen one in metallic light purple. My first one was 87 anthracite metal, and my last one was 93 nero metal. But I prefer anthracite, especially less messy.

  These are driven by a wet timing belt and as long as you change the oil at the right time and you use the recommended oil it should last a long time both belt and turbo .

  I have one ...having come from an Audi A6 40tdi S line. Was apprehensive about the 20inch wheels wrt to road noise....but surprisingly needn't have worried. Such a great car. PS, you forgot to mention the sharp steering and great handling

  If its the S (sports model) with PASM the original Porsche Sports exhaust and the Sports plus mode Chrono package PTV and finally PSM then yes you could compare a Cayman to a base 911. Problem is price wise new they would have cost about the same, second hand is different since the 911 has retained more of its value whilst the Cayman has lost about 50% on depreciation.

  Dashboard and steering wheel are from 1750, grill and tail lights from 2000, bumpers from Junior version, non original colour, so I guess it has been restored by someone that doesn't know ANYTHING about this car

  Early Mk1s such as this were much quicker than 1986 cars and onwards. They were seriously detuned for insurance purposes.
