  Get a paint sprayer, paint strainers, and thinner. It'll save you time and save your joints

  Turned out nicely If you would have sand in between coats could eliminate the bumpy texture

  Thanks.I think you are starting like me .Nevertheless it is a nice project. There are a few things I may do differently. 1 Eliminate the use of the top timbre.Retain just what is essential. 2 To avoid black hooks on black boards, use grey colour to on timbre for black hooks Or better still paint timbre with yellow colour for black hooks. I prefer yellow for timbre .if you visit Amsterdam you will fall in love with yellow. Best wishes.

  Can you use any kind of yarn? I see so much yarn at the thrift store . I may try my hand at it…looks more therapeutic than Sashiko.

  All the yarns I used on this were acrylic because they were affordable and this is new to me. You can use any yarn but some are more durable than others so it depends if you plan to use it as a rug or as a wall hanging etc.
