This movie was enjoyable, but its logic and science were super dumb. And it's what I expect out of the "turn-off your brains and enjoy" movies. The movie is enjoyable enough that I did not immediately question how the Death Angel with super hearing couldn't hear the baby stirring from 3 feet away, behind a tiny waterfall, but clearly the silo door falling onto grain from miles away. It seriously did not come up until later that night had me going "oh yeah!... That was stupid." And of course everything else highlighted by just about everyone. The US just had a massive cicada season, these things would've killed themselves by exhaustion from slashing at nothing over and over again. Pacific Rim, another dumb but enjoyable movie. "We should totally defend against giant kaiju with giant robots. Made out of PURE titanium, no alloys, thats bad (you have no idea how much this hurt me as an engineer). Forget creating a simple kill box around the ONE FREAKING PLACE they spawn at, with all manner of turrets, ordinances, and a last-resort-nuke anchored nearby. Eh, and if the robots fail, we'll make a wall, because everyone knows that the Kaiju will give up after 5 mins." It was so dumb, but so cool. I really didn't think about how dumb it was to swing a cargo ship at a kaiju like a bat. Too bad the sequel forgot the enjoyable part.

The craziest part of this movie was that all of the guys who weren't super misogynistic were the ones to get added to the count, some themes in this horror comedy mayhaps? Nah, just someone who was clearly jaded or something because WOW what was the entire rant at the end?

I'm a 15 year old and I may have "accidentally" sent some friends of mine into a panic. They thought that there was a skinwalker hunting us... On a camping trip! They reacted calmly compared to these students! They tried to find shelter and weapons (they already had food).

So what year was the movie supposedly set in? I only ask because I just noticed all of the military equipment is VERY old. I mean, the soldiers are carrying/using M14 rifles. The tanks are Shermans. The helicopters are UH-1 Hueys. It seems like the film is set somewhere in the 60s or 70s, but there are vehicles from the 80s/90s present. Maybe I just missed something, but I find these details bothersome. Also, I absolutely LOVED this movie when I was a kid. I even had some of the Martian action figures. And seeing James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) was kinda the icing on the cake, for me. Obviously the film is meant to be pretty silly and all, but I still believe it's terribly underrated. My favorite quotation to this day is still "Don't run, we are your friends." I haven't seen it in a while, so I think I'll watch it with my 12 year old. I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it, too

There is a real life cure that funny enough takes cordyceps. There are many types of cordyceps and one of the does reduce your blood cells to half but does cure and creates an immunity to the cordyceps if it were injected or put in your body which is the scientifical explanation why Ellie is immune. Cuz there’s a Dif cordycep in her that makes her immune which she got from the first infected that bit her. Cuz if the bad cordycep can evolve, why can the good cordycep evolve?

Thank god people are finally turning on this movie. Its actually a joke in my house how angry I was after seeing this when it was first released (first time I've ever been genuinely enraged by this kind of film.) The very premise that no one could figure out a creature that was hyper sensitive to sound would (lets say) react badly to sound was such an assumption by all involved in this production that their audience was basically stupid. Aggghhhhh😡

You can't help but notice the weird Terminator zombie because it's the center of attention in a slow-motion shot, during a really dramatic scene.

The walking dead zombies were able to climb though, it was shown in the last seasons that they began to adapt by climbing, picking up weapons, and climbing ladders

I have seriously questioned humanity's ability to survive a hypothetical zombie plague after witnessing the reactions of a certain section of the public to Covid. They'd claim it's all a hoax and the zombie plague doesn't exist, deliberately ignoring government guidelines because they know better.
