I shared this with my Dad, who has been a drummer for 40 years, and he was very amused by this "repair job" 😂

You know a cymbal is thin when hitting anything near it causes it to have a seizure

MILES DAVIS No Joke, was introduced to him after being told to buy Kind of Blue in a documentary about Television Branding (ITV In the Face, episode 12: Night Time, fyi) and after getting a CD of it and listening to it, it immediately became one of my favorite albums. No Joke, he is a legend.

So they're designed for impedance-matching, like the bell on a brass instrument. Smart!

The26 inch Zildjians low hum sounds awesome. It’s like having two cymbals.

None of these later cymbals in the video are dry they just sound dead. A proper dry ride still has alot of wash and can be cashed on but sounds dry not dead. In fact i dare say the paiste sounded the best out of all of these. Maybe because im prejudiced against zildjain garbage but hey to each his own.

Didn’t North make a “Horn” drum set back in the 70’s? I think Russ Kunkel played a set on the Jackson Browne Running on Empty tour in 1977

For the drummer who loves using your sticks upside down and beating the shit out of your cymbals. The Zildjian Absolute Rock! 😂 Those are the worst sticks I have ever seen. 😆

I started out with some of those old pieces. The hardware was sooooo terrible. Especially the flat 3-way stand bases. Lightweight and portable, but you have to bolt the whole thing down and hose clamp everything to keep it from shell-gaming or tipping over.

I like thin drum heads because I like reggae but the good ones are not that easy to destroy. I like the Evans Genera Dry. It´s very thin and due to the construction it doesn´t sound like a empty oil barrel when tightened up but it still has some ring to it. It´s not cheap but it sounds good for a long time. i don´t know if it can withstand the tree trunks but maybe I´ll find that out when I´m changing it for a new one the next time.
