Welcome to the Official Carl Palmer Video Channel . Carl Palmer has played with some of music's most memorable bands including Atomic Rooster, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Asia and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Carl Palmer Legacy is a red-hot power trio that features Palmer on drums and percussion; guitarist Paul Bielatowicz and bassist Simon Fitzpatrick. Purely guitar driven, this band put a new face on such tracks as "Toccata", "Hoedown" and Fanfare For The Common Man" and performed them with dizzying complexity and an energy perhaps not heard since the earliest days of Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Learning of Greg Lake writing Lucky Man, at the age of 12 is mind blowing! He had such a special voice.
I loved this documentary! It brings back fantastic memories of a fantastic time in life. It was a good laugh hearing them come up with different ELP acronyms. Everyone Loves Potatoes, Extra Large Parts, lol. Great.
Don’t want to rain on everyone’s parade but not all of this performance is being sung live.
Sei un grande della batteria palmer ❤😊
Love you Greg.... all I can say is Age is not kind to us.... wishing we could all look as we did at 24! Being just 12 when King Crimson was formed.... Now Greg is young again 💖
Execellent
did you know the director/drummer of the band is my director for the rma percussion ensemble in revere ma!
Greg Lake looked like Buddy Hackett in this interview.
They deserved everything they got. They work hard for that. People jealousy shows in their comments. Extraordinary musicians. ❤❤❤
I haven’t seen the show (yet,) but from what I can tell it uses material from probably the more recent Keith Emerson and Greg Lake performances. In my opinion, what really would’ve been cool is if they were able to pull footage from the 1970s! I know that might seem a little odd given Carl’s current age, but the performances from the other two would probably be just a bit…”better.”
Greg Lake. Bass, guitars, and lead vocals. Did anyone else ever do that? Geddy Lee was Bass, keyboards, and lead vocals. The two Gods of Prog, as far as I'm concerned!
Bands of a progressive bent do tend to make some daring leaps with their second album that can potentially verge on career suicide, and ELP was certainly not alone. A few years before "Pictures", Vanilla Fudge put an album out on Atlantic called "The Beat Goes On", that was also an ambitious piece of work, chronicling the history of music, and it nearly ended their careers, when they quickly got back on track with their third LP, {"Renaissance" and picked up where they left off from the first album
Saw him on this tour in 2012 and on his previous solo tours in 1981 ( twice )and 2005. Waited outside the venue afterwards for him; had a lovely chat, he signed all my merch. I then left to walk to my hotel…he got into his Range Rover and as he drove past he waved to me…a special moment …for this lifelong fan. Rest in peace Greg, you lovely man.
Saw them live twice. Unforgettable.
Gadzooks great talents live in the sky
E xce$$ive L ode P roject
Thanks Carl. I can’t wait to see the show. My husband saw you in Orlando and was delighted 👍
Mr. Carl Palmer YOU are the man. ELP is one of my favorite bands of all time. You guys are some of the most talented musicians ever and I appreciate all of the music y'all made.
Love Emerson Lake & Palmer!
Still love this band. Sad that only one member is still alive. I vividly remember pivotal things that happened in my young life back then with this music as the soundtrack.
GOD BLESSED US ALL WITH ELP
I forgive you Carl, just because of how wonderful the first half dozen albums are.
What about is better having a girl instead of a boy??? Who says if he had a boy he would be a drummer, and he had to spend time teaching his son eveantually how to play ??? And the comparisons... perhaps if he had a son, and happened to be a drummer, Palmer would be upset if his son would be better than him??? On the contrary, if that would have happened, he should have been proud, not selfish. And come on, there are a lot of musicians' sons who choose to do other things. I mean, not because the father is a musician the son (or the daughter as well), should be a musician too. I can't believe he said that in those days, how ridiculous... oh btw, he said would be great if the girl would become a lawyer... well, Carissa is a lawyer. Did he planned the future for her???
Milano, 4 maggio 1973, velodromo Vigorelli..: io c'ero ! Concerto indimenticabile! R.I.P. Greg and Keith .
alguien deberia recuperar el video musical entero sin interrupciones
ELP were killer at the Isle of Wight festival!
The best best drummer out there
As a classical/jazzed-trained musician, ELP served as the main bridge for me to not only prog rock, but to pretty much every other style of music, including all sorts of electronic music today. I've been composing tons of songs, and I would argue that if you listen carefully, you would very often hear at least a hint of ELP influence in them. Keith Emerson certainly was the single biggest influence on my writing and playing, with maybe Chopin coming in second. Sad to say, but I only saw Emerson and Palmer together as the group 3, at the Greek Theatre in California. It was a good concert, even though while I wore special sound ear plugs (to minimize ear damage), I could hear some distortion in the speakers that probably nobody else noticed. Don't know why, but along with me, a lot of people decided to go at the same time to the snack bar during their playing of Pirates. Maybe it was a nice piece to walk around during? One thing that I've been quite impressed with, is all the great musicians who have not simply done covers of ELP songs, but have made them their own, meaning they have made some changes here and there. I confess that I have played ELP so much in the past, that I am kind of burned out hearing the originals, but there is something so fresh and wonderful of ELP getting a new breath of fresh air through newer generations of musicians with maybe a slightly different vision of what ELP could have sounded like, if they continued. I think this is parallel to how classical musicians have for sure made the old classics their own, with their own new interpretations. With that said, I have heard of prog rock cruises. However, I just don't care much for anything other than ELP-based prog rock. People keep trying to convert me (please don't try in a response). I just wonder if there is such a thing as ELP-based cruises. Blind keyboardist Rachel Flowers would be a must-see (no pun intended) who would probably be the closest to exactly playing the licks Emerson did. But I also would love to hear other keyboardists who have taken Emerson's playing to new places, and (thankfully) to new sounds. As much as I like the latest versions of the group 3 (ex: 3.2) I grow weary of them seemingly stuck in using the same synth sounds Keith used a lot on his Yamaha G3 synth. There was a time when I could play a lot of Emerson's music, and I did in piano recitals, but I just don't have enough edge in my chops to pull it off, so I don't expect to be asked to play in any ELP cover bands soon. I don't know if there is any future in prog rock. I know many fans of the genre claim there is. But I think that some steps AHEAD of where it is now needs to be taken. Not sure what exactly; maybe it needs to do more fusion with other more modern styles. Right now, I am greatly enjoying the electronic group, Infected Mushroom. Maybe prog rock can fuse with stuff like that. I would certainly give it a listen. RIP Emerson and Lake. Carry on, Palmer.
Interesting tale

Happy Birthday Carl...greetings...enrico favaro...old (66) ELP Fan❤
Happy Birthday Carl, 74 years young today.
I got to see ELP and Emerson's flying piano in Denver in 1974.
I was a huge fan from the start, i was so embarrassed by this album.
When this song came out, I was in love with a girl an hour and a half bus ride away from me. I dreamed of her a lot, I dreamed of playing the guitar with the song while going to her.
ELP sold 50 million records in 5 yrs. With such strong competition of plenty of other great bands of the era. And now we have Taylor Swift. Such a civilizational regression
OBSESSED AT 16, 52 YEARS LATER CIRCLED BACK AFTER LEARNING PIANO!!! WHAT GENIUS THEY TRULY WERE. And Hodown, just wow. Driving neighbors nuts now with my keyboard now. Hope I am also there for that ELP concert in Heaven, hope it's a long way off tho. 😍
