Clem Burke should be in the hall of fame for his drumming.

I was on a long course away from home, Julie Covington was singing the very best (IMHO) Don't Cry For Me Argentina & it played constantly in the rec room. I believe Madonna later came up with a passable version 😊

In her book Maureen said she thought she had a 'fat' belly and tried to keep a towel over it- she did so when they watched the surfing. She was very slim and had a good figure- no need to do that. sad girls have the body image distortion. Eve was also very slim and pretty in a bikini

As an obsessive fan by this time, I was so shocked this didn't stay at No1 (when that mattered at all) for weeks on end as it's so good. Older now, I understand suicide song / radio play may have been a factor.

This song was so much more than just a 'number one' hit. It was a once-in-a-lifetime hit for any artist - if they're lucky and all the stars align. I'd say on the level as winning the lottery. It went #1 in 16 countries worldwide, unheard of in 1971.

Love this record. The way the bass playing really propells it and how Lynn sings "so" at 2:19 are only two of my favorite things about it.❤️
