My family was staying at Waikiki same time as the Brady Bunch. Even though it looks like they were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki, they were actually at the Royal Hawaiian. As kids we followed them through the hotel. They would start filming at 6am and by lunchtime we'd see them at the pool. Great memories.

I was so in love with Marcia growing up in the 70's.

I had 3 sisters and a brother. The bradys looked like a typical family to me growing up. Only we ate macaroni cheese, and hot dogs. No hawaii or house keeper. Watched every episode as it aired on a black and white TV.

As a kid this was my favorite episode. I thought the idol aspect was spooky....LOL!

I Grew up watching Loads of Classic Show, and the Brady Bunch was such a good One! such a nice family, I watched it as it was an escape also from the Reality of My Family Life, Which was not so nice when I was a Kid, So when I See These Old Shows on Here it Only brings back good Memories. Samantha Shiplett I heard lots of people thought Donny Osmond was Peter, I was more a Partridge Family fan mostly cause of the Music. I wonder if Osmond kids will keep the Music BIZ going

When The Brady Bunch was airing new I was in love with Eve Plumb. I'm a year older than her and in my juvenile way back then thought she was gorgeous, smart and funny. Yes, I understand scripts. Well, I think I still have a soft spot for her. My favorite Hawaiian episode of the 3 is definitely the second one. Thanks for indulging me...:)

I watched reruns of it when I was a kid and in my teens. Jan to me was always the sexiest of the girls. Marcia was too full of herself and only wanted the best there was. Where as Jan was more down to earth and I think would have taken just about any boy friend as long as he treated her right.

In all three vacation episodes (Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Cincinnati), Marcia and Jan were never the primary focus among the kids. (Bobby and Cindy getting lost in the Grand Canyon, Greg wiping out while surfing and then getting captured along with Peter and Bobby by the crazy man in Hawaii, and then Greg again losing his dad's architectural drawings in Cincinnati).

I've been. The beach isn't that great. Because the islands are volcanic most of the sand is imported. I was really struck by how charming the islands are though. The tour guide on the bus was an ex addict. He was a great guy. The water is beautiful but not as nice as Vanuatu which is STUNNING. Champagne bay is the most beautiful beach you could possibly imagine. It is heart thumpingly beautiful. Much nice than the south of France or what you might call the Riviera.

I am 15 and this comes on tv when i was a kid every now and then i remember this episode and the one where they go into a cave or something and get captured

I was team Marcia back in the day, but then Jan really started to blossom. Later, after the series ended, little Cindy turned out to be the most stacked & packed.

@@undertak4 she actually DID in the scene where the Bradys were out in the rigger canoe, it's just hard to see. She probably wasn't permitted to up close though given that "The Brady Bunch" was a "family" show.

I really liked the humor of the show it was sorta low key slapstick!

Watching at the midway point of 2020.

Amazing how big Greg grew in 5 seasons, he doesn't look anything like the scrawny kid who got pitching tips from Don Drysdale.

My sister (older than me) had a teen crush on Robert Reed and when Starsky & Hutch came out she told me hutch was her new crush bc Soul and Reed had a strong resemblance LoL

As a kid you want to see Marcia in a little as possible.

Jan was definitely a late bloomer. I'd definitely get in between a Jan and Marcia sandwich.

Maureen McCormick was very conscious of her figure and would use props to hide behind during filming in a bathing suit (towel/beach ball).

I heard that Ann B. Davis was being considered for her own spinoff show as Alice, but she was adamantly against it. She was modest enough to say that the character of Alice could never carry an entire show, and besides, what would she have been except as a housekeeper to another family? So why not stay with the Bradys? Smart move!

Waikiki had some kick-ass waves that day.
