If you have a shorter scale length as well like a gibson, even standard tuning and drop D doesn't quite work with a .046 6th string. I find 10-50 is perfect on my LP for that.

Sounds very muddy. Just doesn't work for me. BTW I owned an LP studio in the early 90s. I tried many sets through it. The Duncan Distortion was too middy, the DiMarzio Super Distortion was a lot better. The Duncan Custom better yet. But I think the best pickup set looking back was the Duncan JB/59 set which worked best in that guitar. It was a very difficult guitar go settle on the right pickups with because it was not only middy but muddy due to routing which made it lighter. That was the main reason I got the Studio, because of the weight relief and my back issues. My next guitar will probably be a Steinberger GT Spirit or something called a Bootlegger Spade, both headless.

EVH redid the tremelo parts with the original whammy recordings and the Super Distortion and blended the tracks with the SH-5 and whammy recordings without the knowledge of guitar tech and industry recording tech, they did it in secret! when it was revealed on the full band listening to it they all were ecstatic, the guitar tech had no choice to agree. GIVE YOU A CLEARER PICTURE OF SOME THINGS IN THIS WORLD OF REALITY? That is why you don't mess with a martial artist guitarist genius! They could not take EVH's SOUL! The bloodsuckers! The industry hierarchy bull malarky! He also had a plethora of PULSONIC CONES and early rola cones from 1970, 1971,1972, and the best one the 1973 early rola cone celestion G12M 'greenback' speakers. The best speakers known in the world until today. Along with a 1967 marshall plexi cranked on full blast.

I love the MIJ Les Paul’s. For the price they are really hard to beat. I’ve played Gibsons pretty much my whole life and I love them. Just recently picked up an ESP Eclipse Standard and couldn’t be happier with it. Looking to pick up an Edwards LPC or a Tokai LPC. Thanks for the review.🍻🤙
That’s awesome. Thanks for the comment
Sometimes i do it as well. Opens up the sound.
I love the open sound. Great description. Thanks for comment.
I love both brands but Dimarzio just has a character that is difficult to describe. Dimarzios have a color to them that is very pleasing to the ears.
Awesome thanks for sharing
YES! you explained exactly what i feel and hear, it is like a warmth kind of thing and the pickup doesn't fight back either when you play it

Great demo. TZ's muddyness would work in some extreme metal genres. High gain comparissions is what we look for!!
Thanks for the comment and recommendation
Я люблю Seymour.

If you have a shorter scale length as well like a gibson, even standard tuning and drop D doesn't quite work with a .046 6th string. I find 10-50 is perfect on my LP for that.
Awesome I have never tried that one before but I will have to keep an eye out for that gauge of string to try. Thanks for the comment
@@hangingdeadguy1 DR Strings do a 10-50 'TITE-FIT' set and a company called Stringjoy do a 10-50 called 'Husky Light'. Worth a look if you find the .052 just a little too much.
I don’t know about the bootlegger guitars but I think I’ve played steinberger at Sweetwater. It’s a different experience that takes getting used to. Thanks for the comment and I hope you get your guitar soon 👍🏼
CooL. Both sound great, the chopper has an aggression in it when pushed, quite awesome. The Velvet has a great balance and much cleaner in it's version of your riffs although softer without chop. Sounds great under the gain with a ton of character and rich in detail on the strings. Great work thanks a ton for this scientific comparison.
Thanks for your analysis and comment
I actually have a Chopper T, with a True Velvet S in the neck, and I love how they complement each other. The True Velvet bridge sounded really good too 👍🏽
