    I've split 5 cords through it so far. Does what I need it to. kzread.infoUgkxUyQswtttSffRMblGbrhCvZn7JkhtG1-7 I scrounge all my firewood and am not equipped to handle big wood, but for logs up to 24 inch diameter or so, it works great. I've been amazed by some of the gnarly bur oak and elm crotches it has split. For the tougher stuff within it's size range, you might have to study the piece a bit to decide the best attack, but if you split smart it's up to the job. It did arrive low on oil, and I was would have nicked it half a star for that, but it has regained my full confidence. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2021: Still going strong after all these years. I love the one-handed operation. Hope it's still in production if I ever need to replace it

    Very few people know how to use a hydraulic on wedge splitter.... So many people carve a piece at a time when in actuality many shallow splits will tare the grain especially if there is a good center protrusion on the base

    I am glad you have plenty of money ,because that trailer is going to cost you a fortune to refurbish .you should also consider putting a portable toilet some where in it . I do not want to discouraged you but just by looking at your video you are probably going to have to gut the entire inside ,because water damage is quite visible. I wish you the very best ,stick with it and do not get discouraged because when you are done you will have a beautiful show piece.

  • @BounceBackWesterner
    @BounceBackWesterner11 ай бұрын

    No, just because there is some water damage visible does not mean that you will automatically gut a trailer. This is a very bad idea in all cases. This should never ever be done. You pull the skins off first and then see where the damage is and how bad it is and replace pieces as needed. We see videos on youtube with people gutting their trailers. It's just plain wrong. Just because you see people doing it, doesn't make it a good idea.

    A simpler limiter would be to drill a few holes in the bed and drop a bolt in behind the ram head. Easy adjustment by moving the bolt. Just had that idea, hope it helps.

    A chunk of Delrin would make nice brackets for the slide. If I don't have any around, I think I may try 3D printing them in PETG. I might include a slight indent across the top for the hose clamp to sit in. Not really necessary, but would reduce any potential for the band walking off.

  • @championacres

    3d printed guide blocks would work great. I've been working on a cnc plasma table build and I'm using a lot of 3d printed brackets. With the right design its plenty strong.
