MTG by far the best crafted cardgame. Nothing comes close to it. The game doesn‘t seem approachable because the game offers you 100 ways to play. Just make an Arena account and play the tutorial. You can‘t ask for more approachability in such a complex game. The heights of other card games are higher, but nothing is as consistent and diverse as Magic.

Fan service for og Gwent fanatics honestly. Your Magic the gathering rating makes sense provided that you're excluding the unparalleled deck building experience and game formats variety, which judging by the top contenders on this list must not be your cup of tea. I come from paper magic though so I could understand the difference with a more limiting online feature. But there is just no way this game ends at the bottom behind fucking a tier artifact (are you serious ?) and crippling depression homecoming Gwent (yes, even after launch !). To each his own I guess are my only final words.

during the years i played : pokemon maple story, yugioh, world of warcraft, dragon ball, turtles tcg, dual masters, star wars tcg (wizards), harry potter tcg, and maybe two more i dont remember now (yes i tried magic, no i didnt like it), and so far, my favs are star wars dual masters yugioh but harry potter ,turtles and maple story was surprisingly good as well

I can't believe KARDS are not on the tier list. I guess WW2 theme isnt as appealing as fantasy worlds. I strongly advice you to try out KARDS, and would love to hear your opinion on it. It's easy top on this list IMHO. Faeria is also, a hidden gem.

I feel this. Pre homecoming post midwinter every deck had a viable deck and I would play every faction. I loved deck building and knew every card in the game. After homecoming I just never could get back into it 😊

Legends of Runeterra is the most underrated. I have played it for years totally f2p, quite complex and fun. Sometime games drag a little but the art and music and animations god tier. Just a shame it did not make money so the dev support was shut down and they will only support single player. Such a shame. 😢

Honestly Snap feels like a hamster wheel doing the same thing over and over each season. I'm collection level 3,194 and don't remember the last time I got a new free card that wasn't from the shop.

modern yugioh is solitare. Round 1 wins are common. But in the past a 1-2 round game lasted 3 minutes, today it lasts 20-30 minutes. Some of the older formats are fantastic though, like Edison and GOAT.

Also there is "Marvel Duel". It is only mobile, still playable with an emulator at PC. Marvel Duel is very fun to play, high quality card game. Marvel Duel should be in every Card Game List.

Gwent was great during Beta until they've changed the entire game and all the big streamers left the game. I miss playing it but CDPR didn't know how to monetize it properly.

I fell in love with this game in closed beta and i really loved the community, to me the open beta was a step back and i had significantly less fun after it, but i stuck with it hoping it would change for the better. The midwinter update was when i gave up, it removed several features i enjoyed and the bugs was just the straw that broke the camels back. Gwent was the first card game i ever got into and i have tried playing others to and returned to gwent every now and then, but nothing could replace closed beta gwent.

If only there was a CCG as good as Vintage Beta Gwent. Everything else pales in comparison. Marvel Snap sucks. Total shame of a game. In my opinion of course, and I've put a lot of hours in last year until the dev's greed put me off for good. "its a mobile game" is not an excuse.

Just wanted to say, though you are spot on about the apologia and excuses the community uses MTG is not deserving of E-tier. I'd argue it's easily C or B tier if you aren't starting with the deeper formats. Game is abyssmal to jump into though because it has some serious fundamental issues, both in it's actual game rules but also tournament rules. It has basically stumbled it's way into the front of the pack and it's really not deserving.

Your turn 6 zoo drop deck with Bishop and Angela was the first deck that got me into infinite. Way back in like April or May. Sad to see you go but wish you the best I also have fallen off the snap wagon. I log in to get a couple quests done and try to accumulate keys to get new cards in hopes one will respark my love for the game.
