What I really like about cycling is that you can do it by yourself, with a partner, or even in a group with other cycling enthusiasms, a great way to meet new friends, even allies, just like motorcyclists do. I was never a fan of the big city life, instead, I like rural areas, mountains, and the wilderness.

😳 I can somehow relate to your situation, I lost love of my life in 2022 after 15 wonderful years, grief is devastating and it needs time, it was extremely traumatic and at the end of 2022 I developed DPDR (depersonalisation/derealisation) which feels like you are in a neverending nightmare. Cycling everyday for few hours saved my life, after a year and a half in constant dpdr state I can say I am feelin‘ better evry day and go out cycling alone as much as I can, no matter if it‘s -15 degree celsius or rain, just go somewhere, it helps Hope you‘re feelin‘ better now👍🏻✌🏻🌞

price is like $3 more than a comparable size of Maxxis Ardent race. Negligible difference. I'm curious how road noise compares to other MTB tires. This seems relevant to me because if I was choosing a tire for maybe a drop bar MTB or an MTB-based 'longer days' rig, I'd be comparing to MTB tires, not gravel or road tires. I might give Ultradynamico the benefit of the doubt until I've had a chance to experience them myself

Thanks for your video! You inspired me to sew a little saddlebag similar to your new one. I used the LearnMYOG Zip Pouch Pattern generator to make a pouch to the dimensions I wanted. I just added webbing to the outside before sewing it together.

Hey! Great reveiw! But I noticed that the tires you have are not the "Race" compound, they are the "JFF", you can tell by the fact that they have a little triangle after the word "Rosé" on the sidewall. The "Race" are marked with a dot, the "JFF" are marked with a triangle and Ultradynamico's third compound, the "Robusto", is marked with a rhombus.

Enjoying my first vid from your channel. Love the realness of your cycling and approach to the bike. I did the bullhorns and found them to be super helpful when I needed to push hard on the pedals for a hard climb. Agree that it’s a lower position, so maybe not something you want to take on a long ride.

Living in Arizona, the insulated version is the BEST at keeping your hydration at a bearable temperature. I can fill it with cool water, drop in a couple of ice-cubes and there's still some ice left after four hours on the road.

Have you tried putting the cup inside the pot first, fill it with the spork, lighter and stove, then put your fuel canister in with the plastic cap on thecfuel valve upside down? Then uour cloth then the lid on top? Prevents rusting in your pot. I have almost the same setup and it nests well this way.

I ride flat pedals. I don't own a pair of bike specific shoes. I don't own lycra. I wear whatever the weather dictates, which is similar to any other go outside to sweat clothes. I have paddded gloves, but seldom use them. I wear winter gloves when necessary. But I leave the house a lot in all seasons, so sunglasses and winter gloves are necessary wether I bike or not, thats leaving the house stuff, not bike stuff. I don't worry about or use electronics on the vast majority of rides. Sometimes I wear a watch, so I don't stay out too late. Mostly, I don't even do that. I eat before riding, not during. I can generally go 4 to 6 hours at a high exertion level without needing to eat. 8 hours is fine if the pace is mellow. I don't carry suitcase apendages on every part of my bike for local rides. I carry little to no tools. No more than what can fit in a compact seat bag. That bag is never emptied, so I don't have to think about what goes in it before a ride. Sometimes the bag isn't on the bike, so I leave without it. I don't forget it, I just don't care to put it on. I maintain my bike between rides, not during rides. I haven't needed a tool on a ride in years. I can't remember the last time I used one out of necessity, instead of preference to fidget (an adjustment that could wait till after and which could have been left alone) on a non multiday ride. My water takes less than a minute to fill. Helmet takes less. People are way to concerned about their stuff, their gear. Its all the self imposed stuff that makes it an ordeal. I just get on the bike. Sometimes in slides, no water, no helmet, and just toot around. Not every ride is to Katmandu.

Ok to answer some of the questions she asked in the video. Bull horns and Pursuit bars are the same thing just a different name. The reason you feel it more on your glutes is because you are forward more. If you sit straight up, you get less power because you’re using less muscles and can’t extend as much. If you take off the seat and lay forward more you will get more power and basically be squatting. I don’t suggest you do this. This is a type of tuck and all tucks are dangerous. As far as the age old question which bars will you like better…. It depends. The more you ride the more you’re going to want to change them back and forth. The more compact the bars the more aero you’re gonna be. The more you are tucked in with you’re head down and your but in the air ( yes I said that) the more aero and less resistance you will get and by just doing that you can gain 5, 10, miles an hour. Less work to go faster. Also if you’re not racing and just doing it to cycle. A single speed bike will make it easier to change bars because there are no shifters to move. If you get your gear ratio right you also don’t have to worry about chain alignment and again less resistance. No cassette or multiple chain rings make your bike lighter. So the more compact and tucked in you are, the more forward with the least amount of equipment will make you aerodynamic this and the less equipment( less weight) you can have makes feel lighter and allow you to do less work to maintain your speed. Now with that said now put back the drop downs and try TT bars. It’s an add on, you can put them on straight, drops, or horns. I wouldn’t put them on horns but you do you. TT stands for Time Trial. The even have padding for your elbows and you’ll see a noticeable difference in your speed. But also know it may not be legal in your city to go over 30miles an hour. so be careful!

I am a carnivore. For cycling, I don't need to carry food. As for gear; no gps, no computer, and my big clothing item is a hooded windbreaker. I have done Wim Hof hot/cold conditioning. So anything above 34 degrees, a wind breaker, running hat, t-shirt, gloves, and bike shorts is all I need. Oh yes, all the analysis on pedals makes flat pedals the all around best with street shoes ( in my case barefoot trail shoes)
